Isn't a historical trend that wartime Presidents almost always get re-elected? Or was the President so stupid that he thought the civilians on the mainland, who weren't anywhere near the attack. The ones who used to pledge allegiance to the flag at school every morning, were going to cower in their houses? And not demand they go to war?

Just like with most terror attacks there are so many false warnings and fake calls that it's always likely that the government will be forewarned but unable to discern actual threats from the false ones.

The US 100% were expecting the war to escalate. They were embargoing Japan and sending China as much supplies as they could.

But I doubt anyone thought it genuine if the Japanese battle plans would leak.
While still fighting in China, Japan was not only planning to launch a surprise raid on Pearl Harbour, they were also going to invade the Philippines, invade British Malaysia and Singapore, invade Burma, Invade Hong Kong, bomb Wake Island, and launch a renewed offensive against the Chinese.
In 24 hours Japan would be attacking almost all allied positions in East Asia. A staggering amount of manpower and resources mobilised.
The US was expecting an attack, but likely not everywhere all at once.

Good read and thanks for the link. That said, I think we're not far off from the time when the blue collar CHUDs decide that they're going to stop providing their services to coastal shitheels in resistance to leftist bullshit.

No more garbage pickup, no more repairs of any kind, no more emergency services, no more delivery by truck, no more car service. They'd resort to cannibalism in days since they don't value human life beyond their own.

It'd make for great television.

Even if it was, what's the usual penalty for breaking and entering for a first-time offender? Probation? A week in jail followed by a few months of community service tops? Not fucking decades, like these people were facing.
