How interesting does a thread have to be to warrant watching/making?

I've grown curious recently. Kinda had my own idea for an OP but gave up on it after deciding it was too boring, but now I'm wondering what criteria I even set for myself when I did that.

I've figured out that, to me, a thread is "boring" when there's either constant repetition that keeps being reported on as something exceptional (a lot of trans rights activists put me to sleep because they just parrot the same few phrases over and over with little variation, even getting pissed in the exact same ways whenever their delusions are denied), almost nothing to report on relating to the cow/community regularly (regardless of whether there's potential for good milk or not), or they just grow uninteresting with time as they hide from the internet more and more/never change for the better or worse/both.

I have no idea if this is the standard though, so now i'm curious. What would you say is "too boring" for a thread- or, alternatively, what excites you most in a thread?

You have to believe 🌈 I came up with a thread discussing car accidents. I just figured traffic is something everyone can complain about. The more relatable it is the more likely it'll take off. I promise nothing that you post can be more stupid than BarginBinLaden's posts. Sometimes stupid is fun away. It's for that reason that I follow him.

The more relatable it is the more likely it'll take off. I promise nothing that you post can be more boner-inducing than @Feefee81093’s posts. Sometimes boner-inducing is fun away. It's for that reason that I follow her alone at night in dimly lit streets.

Well, content. Unique content.

There was a time where the thousands of trans Twitter users, in isolation, would probably get a thread of a few hundred pages. Now they're a dime a dozen. There needs to be a hook. What makes them special from some other lunatic you find online? Why should I bother reading about this person when there's alternatives? Will there always be some sort of content?

If you can't answer any of those questions meaningfully, they're not worth the time.

If you have a particular cow or community in mind, but don't have enough info to where you feel secure in writing a thread in Proving Grounds, you could always post about them in Obscure Laughingstocks: https://kiwifarms.net/threads/obscure-laughingstocks.277/
I've already posted in a similar thread (https://kiwifarms.net/threads/small...-deserve-a-thread.45815/page-21#post-14830786), but I'll keep this one in mind if I find noteworthy individuals, thanks :0

never thought of it like that; this actually clears the air quite a bit. Thanks!

Get a room already

If I post in a thread and that post gets around 10 stickers(+ or -), it's watchable in general. More than that means it was possibly an outlier or it's a busier thread, but stable traffic threads by 30 or so regulars gets you about ten stickers for a decent post.
