I don't know how the lie caught on so much to begin with. There's probably not another country on the planet that comes close to the amount of ordnance and ammunition that the Russians just randomly bury out in the countryside and they've been doing it since the 1950s. They're still "accidently" finding enormous ammo caches that were forgotten about when the Soviet Union fell. Everything is vacuum sealed and caked in Cosmoline so it can still be useful until the gunpowder starts to break down on a molecular level. For modern powders, that may be another 50-100 years.

I always assumed Russia's economy would collapse before they ran out of ammo, but the ineffectiveness of Western sanctions makes me question that a bit. It makes the Nord sabotage all the more plausible because the West desperately needs to cut off their exports if we want them to fail.

You're going to start seeing mass surrenders of Uke troops or guys turning their guns on their commanders. The last person you want to go to war with is someone that doesn't want to be there. It puts everyone in danger, and it's one of the best arguments against drafts.

Probably not, one of the big claims to come out of the strategic bombing campaigns of WWII, Korea, and Vietnam is that the list of targets gets exhausted quite quickly, and the problem of "we're just making rubble bounce" sets in. Russia doesn't need to do heavy aerial bombardments daily because it doesn't achieve much after a certain point. Smoking the electrical grid has a lot of down stream effects like killing rail signage and computers, water purification, makes factories utterly useless since nothing gets done without electricity, entire cities go without water because pumps are required to circulate it through the city and up through those high rise buildings. Sure you can bomb every single inch of rail line in the country but that doesn't really achieve much more than waste munitions, just smoking strategic junctures like important switches, bridges and electric substations is more than enough to immobile the rail network.

As mentioned before, the Donbass is the most developed region of the country outside of Kiev itself and is where most of the industry resides, the Ukrainian industry is under direct fire for the most part and mostly inoperative. What is Russia going to bomb? Throw a missile into the center of a wheat field? This also runs counter to their diplomatic aims of ensuring cheap wheat and foodstuffs for Africa and the Middle East, its why they have the Black Sea Grain Deal running in the first place.

The whole thing is less "restraint" and more "what the fuck is worth bombing?" Not to mention they have to wait for the Ukrainians to repair infrastructure before they can blow up the NATO supplied kits.

Zelensky may not know much history, he's a Ukrainian comedian and politician, odds are high he's a complete fuckin goober, but he's likely cognizant of the fact that he's going down like the Diem brothers the second he stops behaving aggressively. He does not want to die, he'd rather go out like the shah, still rich, even if he's in charge of nothing.

Jesus...there's just really no way to take cover in a modern war, is there? Even if you dive into the woods, bushes, or behind a hill, some cheap drone is going to spot you and then guide in an artillery or mortar shell to land right on your head.

The ex PM of Israel, who was handling the peace talks last year, said Zelensky was paranoid about being assassinated. He wouldn't shut the fuck up about it . When the invasion first started he refused to step foot in Kiev and was holed up in Poland. It was only after Putin gave him a personal guarantee of safety that he re-entered the country and started wearing his t-shirt and hoodie outfits and larped at being a war time leader. Same goes for every western leader visiting Ukraine, every single one of them have cleared their visits and schedule with the Russians who guarantee their safety, it's all fake. Zelensky and the entire Ukrainian political leadership are alive because the Russians prefer it that way.
