Powerlevel but I am mildly physically disabled in a para-spoonie sense. Autoimmune bullshit. It factors into the activities I do in that I consider whether or not I will be holding up the group in a given situation. Walk around the park? Great! Climbing Whitney? Have a good time and tell me about it when you get back!
One of the things I enjoy about Kiwis is the numerous object lessons in How Not To Be That Person.
It's hilarious and astonishing that a blind, wheelchair-bound, epileptic, multiple, etc etc etc could have gone to the tranch thinking that she was going to be an asset to the community.
Don't you see, she was helping Penny become a self-actualized person, because helping Penny be more self-actualized is far more important to tranch life than being able to fork hay out for the animals!
Reminds me of an old personal cow who once described his ideal post-apocalyptic intentional community and he put one person in charge of vegetable and fruit farming, one person in charge of livestock, one person in charge of cooking, one person in charge of cleaning, one person in charge of construction, one person in charge of renewable electricity and engine repairs, one person in charge of making clothing, and one person in charge of IT, and it was clear from the way he laid it out that he thought he was going to be the Dennis Nedry of the whole outfit.
Alyssa's willing to give the sweat off her brow to allow other people to occasionally hold up their 1/8th of the conversation, and she's going to charge you for the privilege. Hell, she might even let you pay to nut in her later. She's giving like that.
