Nick discussing his views on Christianity and how he is a "Heretical Christian".
It's strange that he seems to rail against "easy-believism" and the Assemblies of God just upping their membership by getting people to say the sinner's prayer, even if it doesn't lead to salvation (according to some critics) or at least doesn't lead to healthy disciples who understand their faith beyond the very basics, while at the same time he says God is someone who will passively forgive everything without convicting you about the seriousness of the things you've done that are wrong and unworthy of him.

If what Nick says is true, he has no reason to care if any sermon is biblically accurate or not. It's all just kind of whatever.

Also someone tell the apostles they died for no reason because they thought evangelism was important. Poor sods. 😔

His theory about God being shocked that Jesus died is also pretty funny and wrong.

The biggest legal (and financial) news of the year just happened and internet lawyer Nick Rekieta didn't mention anything about it. Instead, we got hours of fake coomalot sex stories and Megan fox talking about library books the same way she has for the last year. None of lawtube seems to have cared about SVB and silvergate, but I guess they chase each others' tails.

You’d think Nick would be all in because he used to work at a bank and therefore could shit talk. Instead, you’ll get a buttplug review and he’ll holla about how it’s not for prudes.

@Not Who You Think Nick might also want to consider some of Paul's words. 1 Corinthians 9:27 "But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway."

I'm going to assume he in some way believes in Eternal Security, the old "once saved always saved" mantra. Romans 6:1-2
"What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?"
I'd challenge him to reconcile himself with that belief. If you believe it Paul still commands you not to continue in sin. If he doesn't believe it, wtf are you doing nigga?
Or Matthew 5:48 for that matter (among others). Salvation is important for humans, but fixating on it too much can distract from other aspects of God (and understanding His purpose for creation as a whole). Anyone who would lay claim to the blood of the Messiah, but reject His teachings, does so at their own peril. More to be said, but not here.

I try not to speak about God/religion too much unless it's related to the topic at hand (Nick and co.), though I do enjoy spirited discussion done in good faith, so to speak. The subject of God in particular is a near and dear subject for me (more so than anything else).

Though I laugh at Nick's ideas of God and the Bible, I find the consequences to be... well, it's difficult for me to express (sad/tragic/not good?). In any case, I cannot reach Nick in any meaningful way and I have chosen KF as a vehicle for expression, so I try to add some humor to my criticism where possible.

I'm not saying or implying that you are wrong or that he is above or below criticism. My point which admittedly was expressed poorly is that Nick is too dumb and doesn't know anything. You're going high when he is going low and you don't need to.
Understood. I have been told something similar before by others.

All this god talk is gay. Can we get back to the degeneracy please?
Maybe this will tide you over. The image below used in my It Don't Mean A Thing video was partially inspired by something Nick said while I was researching Drexel:

He has said that he doesn't listen to the sermons when he goes to church. The only things he pays attention to is the music. He heavily implied it was because there wasn't anything worthwhile in the message for him because they had a weak grasp on the REAL meaning of the text and message.

I logged this in one of my archives.

To be fair, he has always said that he disagrees with most of the organised church's theology (which is fair in the Protestatnt world wit the bit of mix-and-match they do with the doctrine of salvation, Baptism. Confession Eucharist, Eschatology, and the like). At the time I thought it was small things like child baptism or Revelation symbology; not outright heresy.

Count on Robert Goveia (formerly Gruler) to cover this. He is solid so far.

Here's a clip of his explanation of Kayla's pic:
View attachment 4745338
Main takeaways.
- He's a major simp for Kayla.
- He's so happy she decided to post it
- It's not crude or lewd it's just wholesome - X to doubt. It may not be a lewd, but it's not what people would call wholesome.
- He thinks she's gorgeous.
- This woman doesn't exist - Maybe it's because it's so massively photoshopped that the woman in the picture basically doesn't exist. I'll be honest here, if I saw that picture without the context of Nick Rekieta I would never have thought that was Kayla.

Personally, I find it weird to get professional photos of myself to give to my spouse (especially if they're as risque as he alludes), but I know a lot of people do that. But to add to that, I find it even more weird to take one of those photos and post it to my spouses workplace. It's one thing for Nick to post it (which he does in this clip) but allegedly she posted it on the Locals herself. Obviously not doing it for Nick's attention since he would have already seen those photos, so it has to be to garner attention from the simps on Locals.
Jesus he looks like shit, pasty, dark rings under his eyes, hair unwashed and out of place making his cringey dye job look even worse, he can't sit still, and his fucking hands shake constantly now.
Nick, you're a coping and seething hypocrite, a terrible example to your kids, and a gross coomer, closeted homosexual (yes we know) but I'm gonna say this because I used to like the fake persona you put on and enjoyed your content before you shat the bed and decided to make it all about your faggot fucking pornsick self - the drink is killing you. You're saying "fuck off you don't know me, I don't have a problem" and I don't know you, I don't want to, I find you a joke of a man, but I recognize addict behavior and I recognize a man that can't admit he's an alcoholic even when it starts to damage his health.
Look at the state of yourself now compared to this time last year.
This is what your drinking has done to you over the course of a year.
It's starting to be so noticeable everyone can see it.
It's starting to effect your judgement and how you handle things.
You've got bad enough that someone whose only thought of you is to laugh at you humiliating yourself on the Internet is trying to tell you - Nick you need help you're an alcoholic and it's starting to fuck with your health and your life.
We can't laugh at a corpse Nick.
It's too late to pull up, but try and put down the bottle.

Seriously, I went back 3 years. I really didn't know how bad it was. I know he's nearing 40 or is in his early 40's but this doesn't look like just aging. People are watching this man actively drink himself to death.

For someone so bitch-tier sensitive about his maldingness, he chose a hairstyle that amplifies and intensifies it. Seriously if he just shaved it all off like his appearance on Dr. Phil, it would look much better. He could even grow back his gay biker mustache and Lemmy muttonchops to look like the complete flaming homo he is.
Lmfao that's the exact argument that made him block me on the Fedi. I wasn't even going hard, I thought a fucking "comedian" would be able to handle a bit of banter, even give it back as good as he got it but he got incredibly butt hurt.

All this god talk is gay. Can we get back to the degeneracy please?

Despite being a life-long atheist, I genuinely enjoy the theological discussion here on Kiwifarms. I'm always surprised and encouraged by how erudite so much of it is. I also think it's a really good counterpoint to the degeneracy. If you're an open-minded journalist (yes, I know that's an oxymoron ) and you happened to wander in here because you were researching a story, I think you'd be taken aback by the faith stuff you find in among the discussion of degeneracy.

But I learn stuff as well. Religion isn't something we talk about in the UK. It's not considered polite to talk about your religious beliefs. Shit, I've said it before -- I've been married to a Roman Catholic for forty years -- I have no idea what she believes, other than some broadly inchoate belief in 'God'. When I've tried to draw her on the subject, she's really non-committal. I get the sense that she follows the rites and rituals because that's what catholics do and she doesn't think that hard or worry that much about the things that would bother me because I'd consider them contradictions.

So it's interesting to me to hear people talking about their faith and how it fits in with their lived experience -- and particularly so to hear it in a group as marginalized and stigmatized as this one.

Do you think Jesus enjoyed math core or prog core metal?
Prog core, because venture bros was divinely inspired and it relates to the episode where dean gets his science suit

@Swole McPole

Atheist? Harsh.

There’s no evidence supporting the atheist cosmology regarding biogenesis and creation. It just sort of grabs some Discovery Channel-tier conjecture and relies on the mysticism inherent in the unknown.

The problem is, randomness probably doesn’t exist, so it’s not sufficient to explain the creation of all things. The closest thing someone came to proving “randomness” was “We can’t predict the decay of particles” but that’s honestly probably due to lack of information.

We do know that there’s a problem with relativistic physics, see the Kepler Problem. People have tried to patch it, but clearly our math is stuck with some unidentified variables.

Causality and determinism are alive and well, and they preclude the explanation of the formation of the totality of all things coming into existence and forming themselves into meaningful shapes governed by meaningful rules “randomly.”

Religious people are the original canon-obsessed nerds. I think that's what drew Rekieta toward it, given the other fandoms that he's into which also have a lot of "canon" talk.

This beaut is not a traditionally defined heresy in any way (as best I know) so let’s call this one Balldoism

There's pretty good evidence that several different quantum effects actually are random, not just particle decay. The Heisenberg uncertainty principle basically gives you this in mathematical terms. Those manifest as many different kinds of random noise in real life (although most things we think of as random - dice rolls, shuffling cards, etc - actually aren't).

You're aren't wrong exactly, but I will ackshully you on this one, as part of the issue is the old camera washed everything out which smoothed things out and made him look a lot less red.

I'm not sure if that actually strengthens your point or not as one interpretation is that he ALWAYS looked worse and it took a new camera, lens, and fucking with the color correction settings to actually show it...

You might’ve replied while I was still editing. My answer to that is none of our mathematical models “check out,” they all have a tendency to plot themselves into singularities. That’s evidence that there are unidentified variables, which in all probability if we had the ability to identify, then we’d have the ability to predict.

I personally subscribe to the belief that everything “quantum” behaves strangely because it interacts with dimensionality we can’t perceive and can only attempt to understand through inference.

Nothing you attempt to understand through inference, even the very best mathematical inference, is likely to be complete.

For lack of a better word, our systems at a core level don’t match the “resolution” of reality. What’s the smallest unit of time? How are we sure? Does Heisenbergs’ uncertainty have to square with quantum entanglement?

Anyways, two final thoughts. One is, it’s really kind of funny that this entire sort of line of reasoning pits the totality of everything against the smallest units of things we can find.

The other is that conjecture is mysticism. The frontier past which we know things for certain always tempts us into mysticism. We’re back into another religion.
