SHD's post in the last pic was just deleted with no response from Unfortunate Face.
this whole fiasco wasnt enough btw to convice frog-kun's followers that she's a shitty person. not only that, she also tweeted this about Zoomers and their obsession with going after japanese artists.

Frog-kun's following among LN fags just be like that. All she's known for on ANN is praising ecchi/loli stuff everyone else in the clique hates; Mushoku Tensei is the most infamous of those, but while it's still airing Onimai is another example. Got dumped on by Caitlin, Nick, Rebecca, and Eisenbeis in the preview guide but Froggy is doing the weekly episode reviews and loving it.

shes prolly the type i hate the most.
"i love oreimo like u but also understand that this ppl that think i should be in jail have a point!"
she's the token moe/fanservice reviewer ANN hired knowing they cant fight against shit thats so popular in japan.
but since this ppl are giving her money she cant turn on them so she says stupid shit and then acts bewildered at actual antis harassing japanese authors.
at least zac was a piece of shit, but proud about it. this girl is just spineless and sad. what she does is also more harmful imho.
she tries to spin stuff like mushoku tensei into being progressive or some shit. because she knows her audience of LN fans are not actual fans of the culture but fans of the sanitized version of LN culture. this is the most hilarious attempt she has done as trying to spin an anime.

"uhm mister author here u are trying to normalize sex as normal stuff unlike most anime right??"

"uhm i just like breeding lol"

I'm surprised they don't have her writing on the preview guide for that purpose. According to her, the various tasks she does at ANN are why she doesn't do that. Alternatively they could get Farris or that AJ guy. Instead it's Rebecca filling that hole, with how she never dumps on shows the way Caitlin, Nick, and James always do. Although I remember that when it was announced Eisenbeis was replacing Theron, Lynzee outright said "we added Eisenbeis to fill out the "populist" spot".

Hell of a lot of ass covering on Lynzee's part. I also don't know why she brings up Mercedez and Froggy, considering the guy was specifically talking about the preview guide team.

Andy outright goes for denying that ANN largely follows groupthink. Despite this being a guy who's literally part of ANN's clique and used to write for their This Week column, and despite the fact that the preview guide very much shows groupthink as the reviewers all agree with each other 90% of the time and when there is a difference in opinion it's just one writer disagreeing with the others.

So someone just leaked out that AniFem is now hiring them to write their first episode reviews. First time they brought on someone new for it since Mercedez, Alex, and Lizzie were hired in 2020:

I do wonder if this means someone is stepping down. The three new reviewers from 2020 joined shortly before Caitlin moved to ANN for her first episode takes, and when that happened they got to write a lot more of AniFem's first episode reviews as they continue to do.

Caitlin may still be around, but guess she raised enough of a stink that she's not comfortable/qualified to review ecchi.
No, she outright stopped writing first episode reviews on AniFem at all when Lynzee started letting her write for ANN's preview guide. She's still staff at AniFem and still does everything else there, just not first episode reviews.

Oh my tired eyes glossed over #AnimeFeminist lol. Also is weird for a dude to write for a feminist blog but whatever.

To be fair, this is a they/them troon. I was going to say I don't even know what Toni's real gender is, but I can sort of see a hint of five-o-clock shadow in the pic of himself he has as his profile pic so there.

Although in terms of a cishet man who doesn't even claim to be bi, a fag, or a tranny AniFem already has that Peter Fobian dude who runs their podcasts. Yeah, he's the one who came from Crunchyroll.

Incase anyone would need it for future reference. Low-effort write-up on Caitlin I did because I was thinking about writing a Varis thread but decided against it, I did include a couple receipts that I never posted in this thread before:
Prefacing this with her pinned tweet that's relevant to localization sperging, using a bad analogy to defend localization:
Screenshot 2023-03-13 at 10-12-46 Caitlin Moore (pseudo-notnormie) on Twitter.png

Meet Caitlin Moore, the saddest person to come out of Anime News Network and Anime Feminist. She has been one of the main staff on the latter since its founding; and also got hired for ANN by Lynzee in 2020 where she continues to write shitty reviews including shit takes on every new anime's first episode in their "preview guide" alongside the other reviewers (Nicholas Dupree and James Beckett who aren't much better, Rebecca Silverman and Richard Eisenbeis who are infinitely more tolerable but still kinda suck). Below are just some insights into Caitlin:

Isekai hateboner:

Shield Hero and its false rape accusation plot broke her so much it was once living rent-free in her head for the longest time (she even decied to read several volumes of the LN for the sole purpose of writing an AniFem hitpiece), but likely because of that she also hates the isekai genre as a whole and is prone to whinging about it at any time:
This long thread going on about how bad modern isekai is, where in the replies and some QRTs she got stroppy with people who dared disagree
Taking an opportunity to sling shit at isekai during the Uchikoshi discourse
Popping in an ANN forum thread about a newly-announced isekai LN adaptation unwarrantedly just to tell someone hyped for it they're wrong
Can't even promote her favorite dark horse seasonal without having to drag down isekai with it at the end
Even wants licensors to stop licensing isekai titles, because the industry must cater to her tastes all the time and only hers. F**k people who like isekai, and just ignore that there can be both isekai and shojo licensed at the same time, it must be all about me and my tastes!

She of course also has a similar disdain for CGDCT anime, though not as vocal about it as she is isekai.

The human being she really is:

Last month, she discovered OtakuDaiKun's video criticizing AniFem. Rather than accepting someone disagreed with her site and moving on, she needed to defend AniFem's honor. She was even willing to argue with Dai himself (page 2, 3, 4) while others latched onto her bullshit (page 2).
Incase you can't tell, she does indeed have a history being stroppy with people. Multiple smaller cases, just of her replying to reasonable comments with a tone coming across as patronizing, I won't be getting into those. As a bigger example, back in May 2022 during the Twitter discourse about ANN reviews crediting translators, she and another ANN staffer (Andy Pfeiffer/ATastySub) flatout berated and gaslighted a dude who was insisting that reviews should be crediting translators (warning: long thread of back and forth arguing).
And she does not like being criticized. AT ALL*.
*Speaking of the thread that came from, I do want to bring up her outright saying women can't be into the certain isekai titles she hates! Frog-kun did bring up Redo of Healer's female audience which Caitlin just ignored and didn't even like the reply.

Also, I'll just leave this here.

Censorship:

Of course she's pro-censorship, couple of receipts:
Supported the censorship of Kodomo no Jikan, outright equating it to real-life pedophilia
Said Seven Seas should've left Mushoku Tensei unlicensed instead of releasing it censored as they had, as if the thing not being available at all isn't an even worse form of censorship

Reviews:

Yes, her shitty reviews on ANN and AniFem. Honestly, since writing for ANN's Preview Guide (+ AniFem's seasonal premiere reviews before she started writing for ANN) means she reviews nearly everything, there's so many of these I won't get into them. I can just tell you her writing and opinions is indeed the worst out of any "critic" you've seen, including plenty of eyerolling takes. She is of course so negative even other ANN reviewers frequently disagree with her (2), as if she really is incapable of enjoying anything. She of course doesn't like being told she's wrong in her reviews; on the forum thread of her Nekopara review she played the quote cherrypicking game with someone who pointed out ANN's biggest problem, she also played that game when forum posters pointed out she was misrepresenting the "Who Says Warriors Can't be Babes?" manga in her review of it.

Sharing a couple random old bits:

This is an AniFem feature on Horimiya that Caitlin made in 2018, I'm just emphasizing the opening paragraphs:
“It’s just fiction!” my mother told me when I spelled out all the abusive relationship dynamics present in the Twilight series and, later, 50 Shades of Grey.
Literally the first sentence of her article is berating her mom! Way to go Caitlin!
...While I do think storytellers should be able to create whatever they want, and that consumers can enjoy whatever they want...
Press X to doubt.

In 2021 an actual big name managed to piss off Lynzee (+ Mad_Scientist), that being Jason DeMarco of Toonami. Unfortunately he bowed down and apologized to her:

Speaking of Mad_Scientist? Yeah since it was never brought up on this thread, I'll mention he used to run a Twitter account @ANN_Forums_Txt about laughing at ANN forum posters. The account was followed by multiple ANN people including Zac himself. There's an ANN forum thread from 2019 wherein someone questions why ANN would make him a forum mod knowing he ran that account; Macdonald and Matty himself both felt justified in it, though shortly after that he just stopped posting on the @ANN_Forums_Txt account.

If that's the case, then having this chick cover Heavenly Delusion is quite fitting since the manga has a ftm troon in it.

Nah. The body of the girl in picture has the brain of her brother. His body was heavily damaged but his brain was intact while for his sister it was the opposite so they transferred his brain into her body.
I already just know that when the anime drops any discuss of the manga's gone become impossible because of this.

Hey James, Nick, and Caitlin, you all are f**king hypocrites right here.
>friendly ferret
>he/him
>”pseudo-notnormie”
>she/her

There’s so many problems with these things, yet it’s hard to put a finger on it. If anything, it‘s telling how they still think like they know more about how taste in film translates to taste in anime.
