If we gonna fix this shit we need to start putting more emphasis on family and community bonds.

Urban living is too impersonal, with small towns you actually know your neighbors and people look out for each other.

Another thing that is overlooked is that people compare their success/failure in life and personal prestige that stems from it based on the norms of their immidiate surroundings and not based on some sort of global average.

If you're attending an Ivy League college then you're almost certainly smarter than 95% of the worlds population simply by being admitted (ignoring affirmative action/corruption),yet people who fail classes there get depressed because they fail to live up to the local expectations that exist there,whereas someone who lives in some obscure village in the Sahel region can boast about being the smartest guy in town since he knows how to read while everyone else in the village is illiterate.

No other group claims they belong in someone's dating pool by definition. "You say you're a heterosexual man, which means you're attracted to women, so that should include 40 year old women because they're women too!"

Lesbians can try to look socially progressive and agree that transwomen are women without ever having to date them in practice. "Sure, she's a woman," they may say about an obvious man hijacking their label. "I'm just not attracted to her in particular." The gig is only up when they really think they're "attracted" to one in particular, only to find out he's a man, and have to admit he's excluded on that basis. Transbians know this and try to trap them in such awkward situations.
