In a world where yellow mascots such as SpongeBob, Pikachu, Simpsons and Minions are the most popular mascots for zoomers (and also millennials, in the case of the first three), this isn't a surprise. At least the two still grew up with Mickey Mouse, Bugs Bunny and Tom & Jerry.Disney bringing Turning Red to the table tells you everything you need to know about the current state of the company. Aside from the weird shit it's just plain bland, which is even worse than being terrible. It may not be tomorrow, next year, or even the next decade until they go under but the writing is on the wall. All they produce now are remakes and pointless sequels. Any new IPs are forgettable not only because they aren't pre-established franchises but also because they're just as if not more forgettable than the remakes.
This clip was posted in the Disney adults thread and even though it's for copyright reasons it's kind of ironic because of how true it really is. If you asked Gen Z or even Millennials what the most iconic cartoon character is they'll likely say Minions and Spongebob. Mickey is only iconic to the older generations.
