Steve Quest (p/k/a Montagraph) vs. Nicholas Robert Rekieta & Rekieta Law, LLC (2023)

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
It doesnt suprise me that some low-level lawyer beauracracy has the same level of technological aptitude as federal government departments.
It's sort of amazing Nick is acting astounded that an agency that handles the most boomer thing imaginable (legal "ethics") is mostly comprised of boomers.

My family company uses contract attorneys all the time, haven't seen any evidence of any drunks. I'm sure some use recreational drugs, and there's definitely some infidelity happening. But not drunks. They're too up to speed and aggressive for that crap. They work too hard, unlike Rekieta.
They're a different breed. Look at Ty Beard, for example. Completely opposite Nick in just about every way. Ignore his record at trying to be a defamation lawyer.

In fairness to Nick, based on what he said late last year about being investigated, it would appear that he must have already submitted a response at least once in response to that ethics investigation.

If he's super surprised this time, then he was probably able to send his response through email successfully last time.

In fairness to Nick
In fairness to Nick, he knows and just lost the data in one of his nightly blackouts. It’s current year and most of us are aware that many bureaucracies, including legal and healthcare, still run on anachronistic shit like fax machines. It’s infuriating, but it’s also not new information to Nick. Really seems like he’s milking every fucking element of this for the inevitable GFM.

All of his communications with them had been via email and his claim is that the only emails they've "lost" were the ones when he was sending his response.

Most likely they've got some fucktarded email filter that's balking at attachments or (gasp) naughty words.

Or he's just lying and they told him to write a responsive response and not some sort of silly childish response, or if he wanted to send in attachments they need to be physical originals.

I would never trust any statements by Rekieta or any narrative he tries to run. Not any more.

"I didn't get the document, why don't you look it over one more time and send it by mail?" is usually a polite way to say "please reconsider what you sent me." Sometimes, people will say the second one off the record. Given that he has responded to ethics complaints by email before, Nick Rekieta has almost certainly heard "We didn't get the documents, please send us a serious response in the mail" and didn't realize what that actually meant.

It could also be a hint that he really should hire a lawyer for his ethics issue because this one is serious, in the sense of "no, I didn't get your lawyer's response to the complaint."

Of course, Nick Rekieta has never heard of subtlety or subtext at any time in his life, so there is no way he would understand this.

I'm not so sure about that, but I'm pretty sure I detected at least one error in Nick's analysis. In his stream responding to the complaint he says he wasn't representing a client at the time his insult towards Schneider was made because he was represented by Randazza, but even if he wasn't he was representing himself pro se, not a client.
I wonder if Nick checked out the Frequently Asked Questions page of the "Representing Yourself in Court" section of the Minnesota Judicial Branch website before making this comment! It clearly states that "a corporation or LLC must be represented by an attorney in District Court".

Maybe someone with more knowledge than me can comment on this. I guess it's possible judges are more lenient in cases like this where the motion is "please give me more time to find a lawyer", but it seems to me that Rekieta was representing a client, Rekieta Law LLC, and the only reason he could represent Rekieta Law LLC is that he is a lawyer. If so, I hope he didn't include that argument in his formal written response, because I'm afraid that the folks at the OLPR might end up having a good laugh at that one.

It looks like it's happened: Rekieta has apparently started a GiveSendGo with a goal of $50,000 entitled "Fighting Bogus Lawsuit from Insane Moron":

Rekieta has retweeted a bunch of other people promoting this page, so it looks real.
I seriously doubt will get anything close to Vic Mignogna's GFM.

I'm guessing he'll get to about $20,000. He did a stream last night, and is at $4,000 so far, but I don't know if he advertised this during that stream. If he did, that would be a pretty sad initial push, and he won't make it even to $20,000.

Looks like he did advertise this during his stream...

I want Monty to win now. The bigger lolcow deserves to lose.
I got dumbs and autistics for typing it last time, but I will say it again: Rekieta is a money hungry nitwit and monty is a penniless nutjob, and by monty bleeding this much money out of Rekieta he's already won even if he loses in court.
And the PR catastrophe of a boastful leech who bought a car now begging for money is Ethan van Sciver style. Nothing wakes up the sane paypigs more than financial hypocrisy. It breaks the trance. The insane paypigs, nothing will stop them giving money to their idols.

Completely agree -- but I'm always inclined to support the penniless nutjob over the entitled grifter anyway -- even when the nutjob is doing something retarded. And if Monty has found somebody to represent him on a contingency fee basis, that's not really that retarded.

$50k is an odd number to be looking for though. Assuming he's already spunked through $50k of his own money and they've not even finished the motions for summary judgement, what does he think another $50k will buy him? Randazza surely can't have told him "pay me $100k and I'll take this thing to trial for you" Presumably, they still believe an early dismissal is possible somehow?

Does he think he can keep going back to the paypigs for an extra $50k whenever it suits him? And didn't he just say that because of his Rumble deal he'll make more money this year than the million plus he made last year?

Fuck, you'd have to be more insane than Monty to be sending free money to Rekieta.

Awww, what happened Nick? You had all this money to buy a new house and a fancy car to wreck, did you chase of your audience by being a weirdo that doesn't want to do what that audience liked seeing?

I haven’t followed him closely over the past few years but the introduction of nonstop sexual TMI is just so fucking bizarre and just screams “MOOOOO!” Especially since he presents himself as someone to whom religion is vitally important. He deserved to have his income take a knock for that, but people retarded enough to donate to him deserve to be fleeced.

And I don’t think giving people a parasocial content experience they want is “grifting” — it’s a voluntary exchange of value, not fraud. That said, Nick begging for money after flaunting his income is some Swaggart/Bakker shit. He has been so transparently building up to this with his little banana-fellating tantrums that the calculated nature of it all is just so scummy. Shysters gonna shyster.

$50,000 sounds like it was strategically set so that it was an achievable goal. That allows him to grift about being "so close to the goal" when he gets to $40,000, and hopefully get an extra $10,000. I don't think he expects the lawsuit to only cost $50,000 more since he's already $50,000 deep and hasn't even finished arguing about his retarded SLAPP motion.

I fully expect him to double-dip if this begging campaign works out well. I'm personally hoping he gets a lot of "prayers" from givesendgo, but only about $10,000.

I'm sure the $250 you sent over to watch Nick do that shot was money well spent. A veritable investment in the quality of future content.

Joking aside, Rekieta himself describes what he does as grifting. Why wouldn't his audience not take him at his word and use the same term as he does to describe what it is that he does?

Oh no, rich lawyer man on the internet is getting sued by a retard and is now begging for money so he can keep paying his fancy out of state lawyer thousands an hour for a job local strip mall lawyer could do a for fraction the cost! Better pay a few hundred or else the retard will win and take his balldo!
I seriously doubt will get anything close to Vic Mignogna's GFM.
Watch Nick copy what a certain other Randazza-represented lawyer bad at money did and put a few thousand bucks every now and then to pretend like people are actually donating.
