Actually, I'm a holdout on Brianna Wu. They're fishy but I do think the fact that no major news outlet took up the story is a pretty glaring hole in the story.

ED has always been unreliable (albeit funny). That's why the cwcki itself was started, to distinguish truth from fiction in the Chris world, because ED liked to put tongue-in-cheek insults in its articles that were indistinguishable from serious factual claims. And it's also why KF strongly prefers archives, not screencaps.

The truth with Brianna Wu isn't settled.

If it were, I think Fox News or probably some smaller conservative outlet would've covered it.

Brianna Wu aside, KF is very good at pursuing the facts, even when they're more mundane and less "lulzy" and that's what I really like about the place. If I quote something from KF, it's more or less as close to the truth as you can get without being there yourself.

Are employers liable for their employees' misdeeds even if done on the clock? I don't know how I feel about them being liable. A background check was probably run on this dude, but a background only shows past deeds. If he'd never been accused/convicted of being a nonce, a background check would have been useless in this case. If the daycare didn’t run a background check, then there might be a case for liability despite the lack (I'm assuming) of any red flags.

You and I know that most men who want to work with children in an intimate setting like a daycare are probably nonces, but the majority of people have never paid attention to things like this and are always surprised Pikachu when it happens.
