The United Kingdom appears to have officially rejected Brianna Ghey's posthumous recognition of her gender the day of her burial. This comes after the government struck down a Scottish law that would have allowed it. The politicians should be ashamed.

The image in the tweet he quoted is the government response to a petition that called for murdered trans-identified teenage boy Brett / Brianna Ghey to be posthumously issued with a Gender Recognition Certificate.

Tony claims that “a Scottish law” “would have allowed it”, where by “it” Tony presumably means the posthumous issue of a GRC, which is not the case.

Ghey, aged 16, would have been able to apply for a GRC under the Gender Recognition Reform (Scotland) Bill had it been made law, and had he lived in Scotland (he did not). But Ghey would still have had to apply — GRCs aren’t meaningless trinkets for bereaved families to leave on their child’s grave.

Issuing a GRC to Ghey posthumously would make as much sense as issuing a driving license in the name of a dead 12-year-old who was obsessed with cars.

This isn’t (entirely) true. The left-handedness claim has been discussed in this thread before. The consensus seems to be that there was a dip in left-handedness as compulsory schooling expanded and schoolchildren were, for a time, pressured into writing with their right hands regardless of their natural inclination. There’s a chart which is a fuller version of the one Tony is so fond of, which suggests that the “increase” in left-handedness in the 20th century is just a return to the norm.

Also, left-handedness, absent socital stigma, is usually value neutral in terms of impact on a person. Most leftie children will grow up, be able to provide for themselves, and probably have a kid or two. You know, Dawrinism. Most traits in a population aren't positive or negative, this isn't X-Men, they spread and persist because they don't interfere with an organism's ability to survive and reproduce.

Being trans meanwhile is associated with all sorts of co-morbidities. Supposedly the only way a trans person (unless they're a big hairy lorry driver who decided they liked silkly undies, womens' toilets, and their dick) can be comfortable in their own skin is a barrage of medical interventions that pretty much inevitably render them sterile. If "trans-affirming care" really is so vital, while at the same being trans is super common, the historical suicide rate should be much higher than it appears to be.

You know how serial killers sky-rocketed in the 70s? Imagine if someone like Tony claimed it was just a natural form of human expression, and indeed, that serial killers were like, nature's way of thinning the herd or something.

Also, this claim seems to dumb to me, because more left handed people has really no impact on society (or a minimal one--I guess you may have to get different desks for school classrooms at most), whereas troonism is reshaping our entire society.
