Late but wanted to feel included;
Why does a good chunk of female horror / true crime creators insist on putting their mugs next to some "le spoopy" random images that may or may not pertain to whatever the topic is? It's distracting and it's low-key narcissistic.
Why does Hannah's hair look like a wig?
I can only think of one male content who puts his face next to pictures of murder victims (as distasteful as that is) and that's Simon Whistler over at his weird podcast/commentary true crime let's read whatever the fuck channel.
In regards to the backrooms, I agree that the best horror came from the concept of being trapped in this endless liminal space while your sanity slowly chips away.
For some reason, it made me think of the Portal games and Rattman's eventual mental decline through the power of paranoia and isolation.
I will admit that I'm not opposed to the idea of monsters being introduced if we absolutely have to expand on it but it's a slippery slope that could easily lead to things being done in a retarded manner. That's unfortunately the reality we live in these days.
I think it would be pretty scary if we got the monsters but they were like constructs of a declining mind or playing with the line of what's real and what's a figment of the imagination and generally uncanny.
You know, keep the mystery going without having to overexplain everything.
