I'm loving these petty insults. Especially when she went out of her way to pretend that part of her insults were critique of elite notions of what a smart person looks like contrasted with her writing. Look in the fucking mirror lmao

It's also hilarious that all these people consider Jesse Singal an "enemy" when if there's a single thesis to everything he does it's "the left should stop being stupid and self-defeating" which is probably why they hate him so much and give him the same treatment they do everyone who says something similar no matter how meek and moderate and inoffensive they are. Edit to add I think very few former readers have any idea what she’s up to now or who her husband is. I regularly read The Toast for years and if I hadn’t been on KF I wouldn’t.

Do you like books? I know you do! Well, I put one out last year, to the disgust and rage of the U. K. press, and guess what? It’s gone into paperback at @dauntbookspub. Now, some of you may be puzzling about this: didn’t the book have a paperback launch? Well, yes it did. But now it has an even paperier back, and to prove it, the BACK FLAP has a new author photo of me, taken by the marvelous @christaholkastudio, in which I am wearing a LACE DUSTER with a distinctive PAPERY QUALITY, that was made by the exceptionally brilliant @thankyouhaveagoodday.

The words in the book PLEASE MISS are also carefully chosen, and I hope you all can find something to like about it. It’s a story about genre, and changing sex, and it has little fragments of polemic, criticism, pastiche, and fiction. It’s like a mixtape but instead of songs it’s the story of my life. If you can’t steal a copy from Waterstones, second best is to buy it direct from Daunt, who are nice and good people that deserve our friendship and generosity. If you like it, please put your pinky finger to the moon and summon others. If you don’t like it, then you are obviously a vile transmisogynist and you need to really take a *long* *hard* look in the mirror. Anyway. Any profit I make from sales of this book will be channeled directly back into my addiction to expensive candles.
