The Square Enix Griefing Thread

Dragon Quest doesn't haven't to remain exactly as it was when Reagan was in office to still be Dragon Quest. I'm buying it. You're buying it. Everyone's buying it.
Changing the core gameplay loop makes it not a Dragon Quest game, and I probably won't buy it. I didn't touch 9 cause it looked like ass and that caused me to ignore the series till I heard 11 was actually good.

If it's anything other than traditional turn based, I'm out. I'm fucking sick of companies needlessly "updating" their battle systems.
ATB is as far as they should stray from it.

By all means tell me how wonderful Xbox is.

Honestly this might actually get me to give the game a shot. I hate turn based.
It's not your fault but this is exactly why Square refuses to stop trying to pander to people who hate their primary genre. They're too greedy to just accept a large niche so they'll burn down these pillars of the genre just to make more money.

Time to start dooming? I know I don't trust modern SE when it comes to new battle systems. I mean just look at the last few SP FF games!
Thats a weird move. I thought the appeal of Dragon Quest was how much they stick to being a traditional jrpg.

I also thought that DQ 11, Persona 5, smt v and Like a dragon had somewhat revived the jrpg there. I guess current year eats at everything eventually.
By the way how is everyone feeling about ff16?
The game featuring no party members is a red flag. The combat is gonna be like a Devil May Cry game and has the same dude responsible working on it.

The only final fantasy thing at this point is going to be the tittle and otherwise is another action game. Its like Mcdonalds became a pizza place that stopped selling burguers but kept the same branding.

There are going to be ai companions in a good chunk of the game, like the dog and such.

Better that we get actual good combat then the travesty that was ff15. As someone who loves dmc I think everybody will be fine. Absolutely hate damage numbers though. Always needs to be an option to turn that off.

XI wasn't actually a Dragon Quest game because there are party members, banks, no random battles, and you don't use a password to save.

It's a damn shame really because if it didn't bare the Dragon Quest branding, it wouldn't be a different game.

Oh, and speaking of Dragon Quest, the Slime is here.

Ooh a smart assed Strawman response defending a giant company deciding to tank it's other major brand because it's too fucking afraid to put something new out without a flagship name to get retards to consume the product blindly.

I am sure changing the things that people like will go over well for the series and it won't become MMO Action RPG Kingdom Hearts Slop like Final Fantasy did will it? Changing your games Genre just for the sake of changing your games Genre is one of the worst fucking things about the industry and I have no idea why the supposed fanbase clap over it given that no other sane industry does it.

I don't get why people are so hung up on them doing something different for Final Fantasy. Every game is different in some way, and they never stuck to one system. They've already done everything from turn based, to ATB, to semi-real time with pause. Them changing things up again gameplay wise is what I'm least worried about them doing, as long as they aren't doing FFXV again.

It's not a strawman response. You said changing the gameplay loop makes it not Dragon Quest. How is it that all of the changes up until now didn't cross the line, but somehow unspecified changes have?

And don't do the "ur a mindless corporate product consumer, man" bit. It's lazy and with all the shit you're talking about big bad corporations and their mindless consumers ruining everything you couldn't even commit to not consooming product. You said you "probably" wouldn't. Get out of my face with that shit, nigga.
