Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

Side effect of Andor's success, now even Mando is following its formula.
I wouldn't mind, if it belonged in the show. Like it seems like a starwars short story just shoved in there, because they used Mango series 3 episodes in Book of Blobba Fat and didn't have enough material for a full episode. Like there was, what 10 min of Mango stuff in a 50 min episode (which is longer than the 30 min of Ep 1). Oh, and like Andor's first 3 episodes, it was boring as shit.

Photon fizzle was mentioned in the last Mando episode, which means the Droids cartoon from the 80s is still fucking canon.

Give me my live action White White speeder chase and Fromm gang.
No it means a bastardized version of him is in Disney Space Battles.
Knowing Furloni, he probably doesn't even remember or even knows that photon fizzle originates from Droids and only included the reference because Disney promotes the drink at the bar in their crappy Star Wars park or because someone on the writing team actually did like Droids, although I'm leaning towards the former since starborn says the show even uses the fucking music from the constantly buggy park ride.

Considering Disney, Furloni and Marvel's track record and how they've handled other classic characters they've put on the forefront again, like Luke, Han, Leia, Willow, or even Durge, Rur, Domina, Thrawn and others, we'd best consider ourselves lucky if Disney and Furloni never touch "Tiggy" and the Fromm Gang or the crew of the White Witch.

It would be shocking if they continued to include and explore the content that the creators have been very open and obvious about including? As a wise and wide Sith Lord once said: A blind, deaf, comatose, lobotomy patient could see this coming.
And let's not forget that Dave himself was involved with TLJ, the most hated of the godawful disquels.

As far as I know she's not actually a tranny. Just a buff woman who does stuff like martial arts and has a really unfortunate haircut.
Judging from what people are saying about her, it seems like Jon and Furloni want to turn her into Gina Carano's replacement. Filoni probably loves that prospect considering she's another one of his pet OCs.

It doesn't fit in the show. The Mandalorian is supposed to be an action show, this episode was mostly about politics. The only thing notable about it outside of the opening is that the New Republic is once again about as useful as a screen door on a submarine, and Bo-Katan joined a cult that she spent a good amount of time belittling. Although she probably joined because she finally has friends now, as opposed to sitting in her castle with her thumb up her butt.

My money's on Paz Vizsla (heavy infantry/blaster minigun dude) starting some beef because he probably believes that Bo-Katan and Din Djarin are not proper Mandos, and he might take another shot at trying to get the Darksaber away from Din.

Paz is definitely seething right now, but I don't know if he'll end up as an antagonist since we've already seen him with other mando's in trailers. It might be a flashback though.

Paz was conceived of as an antagonist to Din Djarin, so Paz might decide to do something down the line. Although from that shot, it does look like they'll be helping Nevarro get rid of a little pirate infestation, so who knows?

Man it's really funny that Andor's enduring legacy is going to be the suits believing that watching humans do mundane shit is what people liked about it.
Sadly, Andor won enough accolades from the fanbase that Disney does see that as the way forward. And it does feel kinda stupid. Not only does it not use the strengths of the Star Wars IP, but there's countless games and books showing how your average X lived his daily life, and they did it better than Andor.

Blood of the Empire showed you the Byzantine politics that your average Sith apprentice had to deal with. Star Wars: Bounty Hunter showed you the life of a bounty hunter as he hunted bounties and tried to get to his target while dealing with competition. Republic Commando and Battlefront II classic showed you the life from a soldier's perspective, the Rogue Squadron, TIE Fighter, and X-Wing series showed you how starfighter pilots lived. KOTOR's Taris segment showed you what life under a tyrannical Sith regime looked like for the regular people living under them.

It's as the good book says, “What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done; and there is nothing new under the sun.” (Ecclesiastes 1:9) Outside of people who genuinely take risks and experiment to create something unique, most things are just old ideas in new tinsel, even in Star Wars, where there's decades' worth of content for these people to rip off from.

More "Essential Legends" Printings are being rolled out, with new covers to boot. Here's a comparison to how they look compared to their original printings:

...I can't be the only one who sees these new covers as an objective fucking downgrade.

Especially for those last two; maybe instead shaving a few dollars and having some indie artist barf out peacock blue and hot pink all over a canvas, Del Rey/LFL should've just used the Japanese covers that have literally been out for decades:

Also, as many suspected, Del Rey has announced that they have zero plans to do anymore unabridged audiobooks for EU novels, now or in the future. So there's the one lone positive of this reprint effort, utterly gone.

Triple Zero's is more fitting to the books content. Other than that, yes, the other books are all a downgrade. Though, It still sucks the Japanese got those badass covers.

Those cover looked like something an overworked intern threw together at the last minute just to say he got it done.

What the fuck is up with the new version format of putting the title at the top in tiny fonts of white on a background of black?

Pretty funny if Disney and LFL thought Andor was a success since last I checked its views were so fucking bad they had to put it on TV and it still cratered compared to the other shows, despite crackheads desperately justifying to themselves that "This show sometimes tried, meaning it's amazing" endlessly. I know they're run by malicious retards, but you'd think a money man would at least demand moderation.

It's why their CG slop is starting to look real bad, since their budgets are getting cut. Well that and they keep making entire animation companies just want to shoot themselves and even sometimes refuse work due to their fucktastic refusal to plot anything out and their insistence to force what the computer tells them they need to do.

Remember, these people pursued the woke train because that's what all the talking heads and loudmouth fans wanted. They honestly thought TLJ would score well with fans because of all the wokesters on Twitter. And with many Star Wars reviewers and Youtubers, even those who hated the Sequels, hailing Andor as a success, they'll keep going down that train.

The next episode of Mando is called "Chapter 20: The Foundling" and is directed by Carl Weathers. It'll also be the shortest episode of the season at 30 minutes, 39 seconds.

I don't mind a short runtime if it flows well; take TNG for example, short episodes where a lot happened and the story wrapped up, but Mango S3 is shaping up to be a complete mess and it seemed to have started with the Book of Blobba Fatt

There's certainly something going on behind the scenes right now. If it's not shortened run-times, it's outright delays like with the MCU.

Edit:
Took a look at the Wiki page for Mando to compare how episodes have been scored so far. Last week's was definitely the weakest of the season so far, but otherwise it seems about normal for the show. The audience score for S3 so far is the lowest yet though, so make of that what you will.

Well that's kind of... odd. But those Essential Guides are still great. That old Essential Guide to Characters actually has characters from the Ewoks cartoon and Jedi Prince to fill out the pages.

It's starting to look like Disney's preemptively getting ready to pull the plug and head into survival mode. This level of quality drop for your flagship shows is not the mark of a healthy company.
