A really interesting clip. Nick tries to justify his legal strategy as a sort of cope for his fundraiser failing. Nick isn't mad about the criticism at all.
Monty apparently isn't some nobody weirdo. Monty is threatening the entire future of the internet. Unless Nick does what he is doing, all streamers on youtube are going to be destroyed. Nick is law jesus sacrificing his money up on the cross to save us all from Monty and we need to financially support him. Nick has also supported crowdfunding projects in the past and I guess paying Nick's legal bills is no different than crowdfunding a comic book. At least in Nick's mind.
Nick considers the attempt to apply Colorado anti-SLAPP laws in Minnesota to be legal brilliance. Its something that he would have never thought of and apparently there isn't a need for the court to do anything, because the argument is just so legally perfect that it can't be defeated. Nick really seems naive about how much of a reach bringing the anti-slapp of another state into a Minnesota state court is. That its a very expensive, very complicated strategy in a rather straightforward case.
Nick also seems to be willing to pay any price in this lawsuit based on the idea that in the end he is going to get a massive judgement against Monty for everything that he paid his attorneys. I think at one point he expressed an opinion that the case would end in April. He seems horrifically naive about civil litigation. and how long these things take.
The harvest will be bountiful if the legal strategy that Nick has clearly invested so much into fails and the bills on this continue to mount.
