She goes to a hot, crowded, humid place to be constantly jolted and completely coated in secretions from hundreds of strangers. Does she even get her wheelchair sterilised regularly? Can you imagine her taking that bacteria coated device into the NICU?

It's utterly depressing when you expect the absolute worst out of someone, and they give it all to you in surplus. You're not surprised but you find yourself thinking, "Once, just once, could you prove me wrong about you being an irredeemable wanker?"

I'm glad Ari is in the NICU rather than home right now. No complaints from me. Not like Alex is complaining about Ari not being home. Ari is 38 weeks now. She definitely looks big enough to go home, but then I'm confused by the continued tube feeds and o2. What's up with our perfect girl? They need to be trying every kind of nipple to see what she likes so she can start eating like a big girl. She's old enough to be taking her feeds the normal way.

She really cares about his recovery doesn't she?

They're still very fragile. I don't think Ari will be that baby, she looks fine, but you would still be out of your mind with worry until you had her home where you could check she was still breathing every 5 minutes like a normal first time mother.

Yes, exactly! I would be worried sick even if I knew she was in good hands and in good condition. Having your baby in the NICU is never a good sign no matter how "strong" or "healthy" they might be.

I like the 'we' when she says that they haven't had fun in eight months, like there hasn't been multiple Tiktoks of baby daddy partying and off his tits before and after she gave birth.

Like she said, it is creepy that someone took photos of her and posted them on the web, but it's good that they did. With luck a NICU nurse will see the evidence and raise the alarm. Even if Alex and baby daddy cleanse themselves and their possessions thoroughly, they still could be carrying bacteria and viruses in their bodies after being exposed to so many randoms in such close quarters. The thought that one of these morons could give covid or influenza to that poor bub, and the other tiny bubs in the NICU is awful.

But also, what sort of flex is this? I have to do normal adult things so needed a break from my fucking newborn in the NICU? Like what, many people won't take a few hours break from their dogs (not comparing Ari to a dog, just contrasting to Alex's comment) if they are poorly.

So many people have lost kids in the NICU or have unexplained infertility or myriad other horrible situations. Hell even parents of healthy newborns either get friends/family in, let the laundry pile up a week or two, or generally just shut up and get to. maybe I live under a rock but these are the first supposedly committed parents I've seen out clubbing in the first weeks of their beloved child's rocky start to life.

One of the biggest parts of recovery from any addiction is that you avoid places that may encourage substance abuse. Even if you're not in recovery from alcoholism, it's still strongly advised that you avoid situations where drinking may occur; alcohol impairs judgment which leads to a lowering of inhibition towards taking the drugs that you're supposed to be abstaining from.

As a rule, recovering addicts are told to avoid alcohol and places that may serve it. Even people who are long into recovery will abstain from drinking and being put into situations where they may feel pressured to drink because of what it may lead to.

I wouldn't be surprised if Noah relapsed again because of Alex dragging him out to places that negatively impact his recovery-

I'd forgotten about that particular detail. Does he have to get drunk because he's disgusted by her, or because he's disgusted by  women?

if he's gone he should stay gone. while Ari is in the NICU she isn't going to notice the upheaval of switches in caregivers (giving Noah a lot of benefit of the doubt there....) too much, though she will pick up on maternal distress. afterwards it will be confusing. she has the cards stacked against her, anything to improve the likelihood of her not having her attachments fucked with is a bonus.

either way, it just reeks of emotionally vulnerable man made a big mistake just out of rehab. people are advised not to have relationships for the first year out of rehab cos they are vulnerable, likely immature and unstable as shit, and if it goes badly chances of relapse are massively increased.

i kinda wonder if he was just horny from his physiology getting back on track in recovery and woulda stuck his dick in anything. if he thought at all about pregnancy risk (X), maybe he discounted it for alex cos her body is so obviously poorly suited to sustain a pregnancy that he thought it wouldn't happen.
