His entire business hinges on being the first person to make videos of a game (because the only reason most people watch him is there isn't anyone else to watch), so people getting review copies are LITERALLY STEALING from him.

there are three branches to being successful when it comes to playing the vidya for youtube
be the first
be the best
be the most entertaining

phil chose the "first" branch, which gets the most initial views but does nothing in the long wrong
and is the hardest to be good at
then again he can't be the best and he's not all that interesting to watch more than once

phil chose the rat race and it's hurting him badly in the end

To be fair, they honestly couldn't tell you if Phil is getting better or worse because they have no idea what the problem is, they're just blindly trying to say positive things about DSP because they're bootlickers. Most of his fanbase consists of kids and emotionally stunted adults, they're not exactly the best people at differentiating being an a massive asshole and being funny.

His whole 'I don't care about views, honestly,' attitude has always bothered me when it's blatantly clear that it's all he cares about because he never shuts up about it. It's good to see that his bitterness towards Youtubers far more successful than him hasn't left Phil either. You can just tell that it eats him up when he sees other accounts with these fancy different coloured subscribe buttons.

What gets me is that he'll make fun of these people without even looking at their content or even trying to understand why/how they got popular. He's often said they got famous for "scream and failing their arms around" when Phil himself has done this to try and get attention.

The fact that he doesn't watch other people's content is yet another mistake that's hurt him over the years.

So, it's a two minute long video where he basically admits that he's rushing through the game on purpose, all the while talking shit about it for having the audacity of allowing speedrunners to get through certain sections faster. I know he really hates Halo, but come on, even for him this is complete bullshit.
