The joke has nothing to do with it, it's the fucker got called out on his biggest lie and victim card and couldn't fall back on his normal bullshit. Wanted to know, did Phil make that react to recite the same arguments from the podcast but this time, without anyone to break the echochamber? Can't stand watching his react but to me it sounds like what he would want to do

(if that was the intention it backfired since he had Keemstar to destroy that echochamber)
By the way, he looks better with the Pikachu hat cus' it at least masks his baldness

People weren't being fair to that bit. There's nothing wrong with making jokes but Phil spent 20 minutes explaining how he doesn't do racist or sexist humour only to immediately have a clip of him doing both. He says he doesn't fill dead air with constant jokes because of his interactive audience only to use that excuse as to why he made that joke.

Btw that's hilarious because he constantly has the deadest of airs on the stream and uses the same joke five times a day. AND he's been using his face as the punchline like Jim from The Office during an awkward situation.

I am thinking that down the line when the time will come and dspreacks hits no goals, he will set a goal to reack to the entirety of the interview and/or the aftermath, dents and detractors will take the bait and give him money+subs so that he can tell his _own_ truth.
He banned people mentioning the howard+rambo video but the time came where he milked that too.

On another note, I am amazed how his view shifted after the stream. He most probably had a chit-chat with his mods and everyone told him that it was a disaster.
He stood there like a retard at the end of the interview saying the interview was great.
I believe that those 5-10 mods of him are the ones steering him.
So, in my opinion the bad aftertaste of the interview was planted in him by his mods, the making money off of drama was his little contribution so that he can convince himself that the entire view is his.
He has no analytical skills, I don't think that he is or was a smart individual anyway, but the interaction only with games and his 2 cats all those years are taking a toll on his verbal and cognitive abilities.
He is getting more retarded by the day.
edit: ...and the dents are paying for it.
edit2: why doesn't he set up a different goal to go outside? i.e.: $5k for a trip to hawaii and do daily vlogs, feed himself with garbage street food, swim, then get back. I know that the only thing he does for free is taking a shit, so why not monetize his vacays?

His psychological state after the interview needs a lot of attention.

You write about "analytical skills" but it's baffling even from a purely emotional perspective. The hosts were mean mugging him and giving him stink eye for most of the latter half of the interview. They became less and less charitable, aggressive and confrontational.

So there's at least three issues at play here:

1. inability to reflect, correctly assess the merits of the interview and judge public perception (intellectual, intelligence)
2. inability to "read the room" and sense hostility (emotional, social skills)
3. unable take a minute and think to reserve judgement: Immediately tell everyone how well it went (self-control, discipline)

To cut Dave some slack, I don' think (1) on its own is extremely unusual. If there were no other tells (antagonism, facial reactions) it can be hard to tell when you give all the wrong answers. The combination with (2), as the hosts weren't hiding their disagreements, is what makes it baffling to me. DSPs well understood lack of impulse control makes (3) rather obvious and all together it leads to what we got.

Largely because his ego wouldn't allow it. To do so would be admitting that the trolls caught him red handed. And that's not considering any potential impact it could have on his bankruptcy.

I think it's more to cope with the realisation that the interview went nowhere near how he thought. He was still holding onto the hope that he would be regular on the podcast all up to the reveals if what the hosts really thought about him.

The thing with the "arguments" he tried to make is that they were, outside of champions and the bank leaks, the same shit he says every prestream. He's had zero new material for the past 5 years.

Let's be serious here: there are probably a lot people like Phil out there. The difference is that Phil had a small window of fame and now clings to that life as hard as he can. We call it vortex for a reason and the best remedy would be to get away as fast as you can

Don't forget refusing sponsorships. However as seemingly noble as it may sound, the real reason is just Phil's aversion to any kind of obligation or commitment to anything, even just implied. Phil is too lazy to record sponsor segments and his ego is too inflated for him to fulfill his part of any bargain. Same exact situation with Keem's deal but with an added clenched-fists kind of childish grudge on top. He would rather continue begging his paypigs for money because that entire process happens entirely on his own terms.

Just to be very clear, I can identify three reasons why DSP is not interested in the offer by Keemstar and none of those reasons has anything to do with DSPs fake "moral compass" or Keem as a business partner:

(1) loss of control and having to deal with someone else: DSP is a control freak. He doesn't want to be "beholden" to anyone, he doesn't want to abide by any other persons' timetable or topics. He certainly doesn't want to have to deal with an open chat.

(2) victimhood narrative: If DSP took the offer he couldn't keep up the story about "the widdle youtube guy" who never gets any offers. He'd have to take control of his fortune and actually work to make the lolcow podcast a success.

(3) can't beg if you just made $50k: accepting a large lump sum would make it much harder to convince his dents to give DSP money to pay his bills. Still being in financial trouble (poof, money gone) would make his spending habits even more suspicious.

Anyone who thinks there are other reasons (like "DSP doesn't want to take blood money") has been successfully pignotized.
