Don't forget refusing sponsorships. However as seemingly noble as it may sound, the real reason is just Phil's aversion to any kind of obligation or commitment to anything, even just implied. Phil is too lazy to record sponsor segments and his ego is too inflated for him to fulfill his part of any bargain.

Well, also he's way too late to the game, if I understand correctly, and even the bottom-feeders like Raid Shadow Legends actually want some sort of return on their investment, not just you reading their ad copy. I forget who mentioned it here, but supposedly even if Phil shilled for every bottom-of-the-barrel sponsor, they require a certain number of clicks/views/signups/hours played/whatever before they'll pay anything out. And since Phil has no actual audience, that could never happen.

By the way, was anyone else astonished at the part where Phil laughed in Keem's face when Keem said "$50K could change your life"?

They invited Keem and ItsAGundam on there. There's no question what their intentions were, especially with Phil who is among the most paranoid and terrified of allowing anyone to co-exist with him.

This all stinks funny to me. The only conclusion I can muster is that Phil notices his income has solidly dropped below $100k/year and desperation to go "viral" is rising.

Just to be very clear, I can identify three reasons why DSP is not interested in the offer by Keemstar and none of those reasons has anything to do with DSPs fake "moral compass" or Keem as a business partner:

(1) loss of control and having to deal with someone else: DSP is a control freak. He doesn't want to be "beholden" to anyone, he doesn't want to abide by any other persons' timetable or topics. He certainly doesn't want to have to deal with an open chat.

(2) victimhood narrative: If DSP took the offer he couldn't keep up the story about "the widdle youtube guy" who never gets any offers. He'd have to take control of his fortune and actually work to make the lolcow podcast a success.

(3) can't beg if you just made $50k: accepting a large lump sum would make it much harder to convince his dents to give DSP money to pay his bills. Still being in financial trouble (poof, money gone) would make his spending habits even more suspicious.

Anyone who thinks there are other reasons (like "DSP doesn't want to take blood money") has been successfully pignotized.

You just gave me the opportunity to address this. I've seen a lot of people who, for good reason, don't like Keemstar and would never do business with the man. They then transfer that same logic to Phil (a retarded man who's certainly not fiscally conservative or careful), just because he claims it as a convenient excuse.

DSP would take $50k from the literal devil if he could do it behind the scenes.

Yeah, but raging and immediately freaking out about being backstabbed would have done a better job at generating views and clicks no? It doesn't mesh with trying to play nice. The only way it makes sense is if Phil really believed there was still a chance he might be invited back as a regular guest (which means he didn't realize they hate his guts) and didn't want to burn the bridge. Which is hilarious.

These guys did an ok job taking Phil detractor material and questioning DSP about it but when listening to them after the Phil interview congratulate themselves and to this Alex retard act like he's a tough guy for being able to bully fuckin' Phil of all people I can't help but think they looked good for that brief moment only compared to DSP. Also, if Phil actually believed his own content was good he'd probably have countered during the interview that he's not going to take advice about how to get big on the internet from an indistinguishable-from-the-million-others-just-like-it podcast full of nobodies that only has any buzz at all because he's on it, even of it is because he's hated.

Also, I don't think DSP will take the podcast deal because he realizes he's got too much to hide and he'd never be able to make it on a podcast where he actually has to talk openly with literally anyone he can't instantly ban when the questioning gets even mildly inconvenient. I bet he feels like the 50k + ownership deal risks rucking up his dent income stream totally and that he could easily implode after a few episodes, and this experience only further confirms that.

The main reason for not doing the podcast is probably because he has to “share”.
Share the revenue. Share the attention. Share the echo chamber. Work with people who, while incredibly retarded, are infinitely more ‘personable’.

As immensely stupid as wings and boogie are, they still have the ability to come off as normal humans. DSP does not. DSP is a mentally and socially retarded only man-child who believes he deserves everything for doing absolutely nothing.

I think it was more that Phil was slowly being cornered by the reality that he's never going to get a chance like that again. The walls of his fate and reality are closing around him, the hope that he will return to the glory days moving further away. What he didn't anticipate was Craig actively reaching out to critics and for some absolutely bizarre reason, not preparing for anything. He went in there expecting a snoozefest like quaterpounder and jake james lugo, people who knew more about Phil than Craig did before he jumped head first into the vortex, before them and not people aware of his propensity for bullshit.

I think the lashing out is just the sign of how bruised his ego is now that his plans truly failed him, especially since he has no one else to blame for the concept (not even khet). He hoped to make his bullshit more popular than the trolls (it was the whole point of having an interview back when he hoped for charlie to offer) and now, who else could he have left that fits his idea. The only people who could ever be interested in an "interview" are "trolls and detractors" who'd grill his arse harder than Adam did. His last hope for an easy out of the lolcow life is gone and Adam's comments really touched that nerve.
