General GunTuber thread

How would you make the match, I think with some sort of basic machine tooling a wheellock type mechanism (anything that generates a spark) could be produced.

I suppose it depends where you are, however there are situations where you don't want to be reliant on a consumable product, when there's a one of solution.
Pretty easy to make slow match

1. Boil flax rope in potash to remove the lignin
2. Throughly dry
3. Soak in lead acetate & vinegar (doing so makes it fatal if you ingest it....or even chew on the match)
4. Dry throughly again

Causes slow burn as well as reduces ash production

Cokeman had some problems with his brand new Sig:

They basically told him to fuck off, so he rages for a bit and then shoots it indoors. "That didn't ring my ears too bad."
It seems like every since Sig became the government's latest bitch, they've totally abandoned proper support for the civilian market. That will bite them in the ass long term.

So @Scarlet Imperial I've got to know, what's up with Paul's Pop-Tart obsession?
It's an homage to the old Camel ad, "Where A Man Belongs". He and Gregory the Silent when they were like 12 would go out on camping and hiking "expeditions" funded by paper route money, so the only travel snacks they could really afford were things like PopTarts and off-brand cans of spaghetti-o's. I'm having issues attaching images of it, but you can Google it and see exactly what I'm talking about and why it fits, lol. Just imagine a couple of teenagers in t-shirts and jeans trying to camp out on the side of a mountain with like 1 tent (if that) and a plastic baggie full of matches. All they have to eat are PopTarts and a couple cans of beanie weenies but they forgot to bring a can opener so it's just PopTarts.
As an aside, Paul isn't a huge PopTart fan, nor is he being paid in any way to shill PopTarts, it's just something they thought was funny and it's caught on. At the last gun show people were apparently bringing in PopTarts for him to sign.

However you have the same problem that armies in the 17th century had, soldiers having to handle gunpowder while carrying a lit match. One of the reasons the New Model Army performed so well during the English Civil war, was they relied on wheellock armed cavalry and Pikemen, downplaying the role of Musketeers.

If you have the technology to manufacture a cigarette lighter then you can manufacture a wheellock. .

Am I late to the party? One of the gun groups I'm in on is having a war with itself on Facebook because Brandon Herrera and Donut Operator went to Dan Crenshaws birthday party, and I guess Herrera is claiming he's talking gun policy with him to "change his mind" or something?

They're all being pretty fucking gay about it tbqh, but maybe I'm biased because of my opinion on them anyways.
Brandon saying that he's there to 'change his mind' is a cover for blatantly whoring himself out to promote his brand. Same as when he helped with the anti-2a video.

Oh, 100%

I just think it's gay because both sides are treating Guntubers as more than what they are, which are glorified dancing monkeys.

Colt did this, and they never recovered from how they wrecked themselves.

The choice US gunmakers are facing is to either be subsumed by the US military-industrial complex or be sued out of existence by "survivors of gun violence" (do not be surprised to see pending suits get thrown out on the heels of new government contracts). The smaller shops will be raided/disposed of by ATF.

I will defend Brandon on the IDAT video because it does seem like IDAT hid his true intentions when contacting Brandon, and given the behind the scenes stuff we saw from Brandon, IDAT showed no hint of his intent to turn the entire trip into a Anti Gun message. Brandon is a retard but i highly doubt he would ever do something to directly harm the 2nd Amendment, he's just too Nice/Clout hungry to say no to people.

I agree it's a problem, but without electricity that's going to be the easiest firearm to make, imo.

I wasn't aware of the wheellocks being used by Cromwell!

The reason flintlocks replaced wheellocks was that for the same manufacturing costs you could make about 3 flintlocks for every wheellock.

This is pretty much everyone in the Youtube space outside of like Ian and Paul IMO

Which is why I think it's super gay that people are treating the guy who bought a skate shop and the gun meme review guys as the arbiters of 2A.

All this talk of blackpowder rifles makes me think something akin to the Gewehr 1871/84 would be a near ideal version. 11mm black powder with a tube. 380gr projectile at 440 m/s. Well proven action and design with a long service record. I wonder what a hollow point 11mm would do to ballistic gel.

You are the first one to post about it as the shit show happened while the site was down. I saw it on IG and wanted to post about it (including Donut's shockingly OOC attacks on people bad mouthing Crenshaw), but sadly couldn't.

It's a shame Donut has such fucking blinders for Crenshaw and his sellout techniques, but given the rumors about how he had Black Riffle Coffee force out two of the head writers/actors from Vet TV so that Donut could get a lead role in one of the site's shows, such assholery shouldn't be THAT shocking. Though it's still kind of jarring to see Donut let the mask slip like that.

They are loud, public voices who do help Gun Rights inAmerica, Maybe useful idiots more than anything, but it isn't a bad thing to have some dumb but loud allies to push for what we all want.

Yes, they were cheaper, but they replaced armies that were predominately using matchlocks.

My point was you'd see more matchlocks in a collapse situation given their simplicity

How exactly do they help? I'm genuinely curious because I always see people say this and I don't get it.

I don't follow either of them religiously or anything so maybe I just see the stupid shit more when it pops up.

While someone else can likely explain it better than me, I'll take a shot at it.

Lets look at Brandon here since he is who I was talking about. Brandon makes content that appeals to the 15-25 males; most of his content is humorous and filled with stuff that interests young men, but he often times gets into discussion regarding gun laws and regulations. This is a very important thing to teach young men who have an interest in firearms. Getting it into their heads that gun rights are constantly under attack and all regulations are based on some form of purposeful ignorance or malice is good counter-signaling to the constant MSM points about how dangerous firearms are.

We also have someone like Demolition Ranch; Matt makes content that appeals to much younger males, I'd say around 10-14 if not younger, and his content is mostly devoid of politics or discussion of gun laws, excluding small comments, and his content at large is a lot more goofy and wacky, but he still shows aspiring gun owners or even kids with a passing interest that guns can be fun when you are safe.

Essentially, Youtube gun content is propaganda. I know I am starting to sound like a Twitter user here, but stick with me. All MSM and the vast majority of online content regarding guns either glosses over private firearm ownership or demonizes it; the media circus regarding mass shootings beats it into people's heads that guns are scary and black rifles should be banned. Guntube gives a very important opposing view and force to that narrative, pushing that guns are cool and fun as long as you are safe, while also speaking out against laws and regulations that are anti-gun. This content does not usually appeal to longtime gun owners; those types will watch people like Ian or Paul, but it appeals to young aspiring gun owners, the next generation who will have to deal with retarded pushes for gun control.

I hope that was coherent.
