guys, who of you had slave owning ancestors?

No, but the house I grew up in was built on the same spot where a plantation home had been. My family didn’t live there at the time though.

There were slave cabins until my dad tore them down when I was little. At the time I thought they were play houses (I was maybe 4ish when he tore the, down).

My aunt always swore the house was haunted and wouldn’t go inside alone.

Evidently we did on my mom's side of the family. I can join the Sons of the American Revolution on that criterion as well.

Wish we could get back to those days, it's not even a racial thing, I just want to own slaves and make them cultivate a plantation...white, black, Hispanic, it doesn't matter. All that matters is that they know they're property, know their place, and will produce cotton, corn and tobacco on schedule.

I'm not entirely sure, that's something I should ask older family members. My mom did grow up in a house with black staff though. They cooked, cleaned, one drove my granddad around, that type of shit.

I'm not sure whether they did or not. My grandmother once told me a family legend, of sorts, where one of our ancestors fought in the Civil War as an officer for the Confederacy. It could be that he served on her side of the family, though, with those on my grandfather's side serving for the Union. As two men are listed under the rank of private, with one of them possibly re-enlisting under a different name, for some reason.

Not me. Eastern Euronigger here and family has a very short history of being in the states. All long after Slavery was over.
