Disney Adults / Disneymania

And while only Book of Mormon ended up being an actual show, Cannibal! The Musical and, The South Park Movie, and Team America all take inspiration from that type of production/music/etc.
iirc Cannibal! did have a live show or two, some of it was an extra on the old Troma dvd
Nah that's a fair question i suppose I'm looking at it from the tattoo perspective rather then the Disney perspective. The tattoo itself is actually really well done, the colours and line work are very pretty. The artist is skilled and even the idea it's different from the generic Disney shit.

I have a lot of tattoos and even if i have something that's "popular", i like to have my own spin on it. And that's what I'm getting from that tattoo specifically, the artist drew that and designed with the customer criteria its original even though its a mainstream image so to speak, it is different then off the wall Disney image.

The rest of those tattoos are fucking horrendous the line work is blown out the colour is patchy and horrendous, not to mention tacky in some cases.
yeah the content of the art for Paint With All The Bodies Of The Dead is stupid, but the technical aspects aren't bad
Thank you @GenociderSyo for adding the videos.

I've got more Disney adult fuckery, this time just images.
tbh Darth Mickey and Slave Lucas is funny, and clearly at some manner of nerd con

Kurt is a """"""""""comedy"""""""""" YouTuber who makes videos of all kinds, but his most popular ones are by far his Marvel/Disney ones. Since Disney owns Marvel, I will be including one of those as well.

First video of his that I stumbled across by chance was this:

I'll be honest, Kiwis, I smiled a little at the flying carpet and Gaston bits.

He also does a thing where he dresses up as a character to go out to the movies.

You may be thinking to yourself, "Meh. A little cringe, but nothing to bad." Just wait. One of his most popular videos is this "Disney Characters in Quarantine" one. It's three minutes of your life you will never get back.

He has enough clothing to Disney bound, so there is no doubting his Disney Adult status.

If you're still not convinced this is lolcow behavior, this man owns Lightning McQueen crocs.

He has a girlfriend but acts like a theatre gay. I don't want to check his socials because it was already painful enough sitting through his videos.

And Avenue Q is like the quintessential musical for straight adult men. Specifically that edgy early Adult Swim crowd.
Be More Chill is also acceptable for straight men although I don't think they ever found it.

Yeah that's not surprising. Cam Stonestreet is straight too, after all.

It's an easy bit to play and it drives engagement on TikTok like crazy since the main demographic is mostly young adult women who are like wow he's kinda sexy but also non-threatening!

Came across this Tumblr post today--

She's a Disney Adult too, but not to the extent of the others that regularly visit the parks, etc. Partly because she's more focused on blowing what money she has on weed. I often forget she's even into Disney until I see her art:

Seeing the Tumblr post also reminded me of how there are other NEETs that want a Baymax as a caregiver or friend. Never mind that in the movie he is a barely operational (and functional) therapist.
Honestly, that last post of hers that you shared just makes me feel bad for her.

That and your entire post is giving me more evidence for my theory that most Disney adults had terrible childhood and/or are otherwise broken adults desperately in need of therapy.

I'm honestly surprised that so many people like Betamax. I thought the movie he came from was aggressively mid at best and she is delusional if she thinks AI is even close enough to create a functional caregiver bot.

Apparently it was a huge hit in Asia. Iirc the title of the film was even changed to "Baymax" in some countries.

Changing titles of movies overseas is pretty common.

Sticking with Disney for another example, Wreck-It Ralph was changed to "Sugar Rush" when it was released in Japan. The reason is that most of the movie was spent in that location.

We'll be here all day if we listed every movie that had its title changed for foreign releases.

Kind of ironic how Big Hero Six racebended it original all-Asian cast to be something else, yet the Asians still loved it. Almost like they can like something without being represented in it, and are capable of not throwing shitfits over 'erasure' in a comic.

big_hero_6_comic_page_2_by_bluehoung617_d7y7cs2-pre.jpg

From Hiro being fully Asian, GoGo and Wasabi being fully Asian, Honey Lemon is strongly implied to be fully Asian but with dyed hair and contacts, and Fred is Ainu, an Asian ethnic minority...

big-hero-6.0.0.jpg

... to Hiro being half white, GoGo still being Asian at least, Wasabi is black, Honey Lemon is """"Latina"""", and Fred is white.

Mysteriously, you rarely hear chimping about this blatant erasure of characters of colour, but I guess it's considered alright if Asians (including darker ones that are an actual opressed and persecuted minority in Asia) get changed to Blacks and western Browns and even white as long as it happens alongside Asian->Black racebending.
Cool and interesting and unique characters for kids getting completely changed and racebended to better appeal to woke Western adults.

Wakanda is fine, but an all Asian cast has to be diversified, apparently. If they weren't so desperate for Chinabux, Disney probably would have diversified live action Mulan too.

Fredzilla_Marvel.jpg
He was so cool, too.

Actual diversity gets erased, but Baymax has plenty time to teach kids about trannies using tampons!

Zootopia was also renamed Zootropolis in the UK, and in Italy Moana was renamed to Vaiana so it wouldn’t be associated with a porn star.

I would not feel bad for Polissa. She is a greedy, entitled trainwreck that has killed more animals than I can count. I can sympathize with a lonely childhood, but her current actions aren't great at all. Over the holidays she filmed her makeup collection (including a Disney themed Morphe palette). All the while one of her eleven cats was at the vet suffering from a blocked urethra.

That being said, I agree with you that Disney Adults are generally broken from either a terrible childhood or mental illness. Nearly every Disney Adult I personally know has a history of cutting, going to the psych ward, etc. They gravitate to Disney because it was (and is) a source of comfort to them. Only instead of using it as a temporary escape, they maladapt by getting into debt over park visits and Elsa merch, refusing to actually adult or pursue more adult targeted interests, etc.

Baymax himself is very popular in Japan, but so is Disney in general. Disney built a park there for a reason.

(I'm now reminded of that time that an expat Kiwi found Tess Holliday being mentioned on a Japanese gossip forum. Someone described her as looking like Baymax. That was the kindest comment in that entire thread.)

Oh damn, I didn't know that about her. I'll admit, I didn't hear about her until she was brought up.

Nah, no, fuck her then. I can't stand animal abuse and/or neglect. Never keep more pets than you can afford to take care of (you really shouldn't need more than two, maybe three, unless you live in a big family that can look after them all) and if you can't afford their care, give them to someone who can.

I hate it when people treat pets as status symbols and not living creatures that need to be actually loved and taken care of.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Disney build a theme park in China? I knew there was one in Japan and I can't remember if the one in France is still up, just that the French hated it.

It is, and it's still fairly busy.

However, euros aren't as used to travelling long distances for something, they think a 3 hour drive for a concert is already pretty far, so that's something that initially and still causes less vistors, among many other reasons like cultural clashes and Paris being fairly cold and rainy, also there's been at least 1 incident where the Mickey Mouse character threw a tantrum and kicked some French kids.

'Disney vacations' also aren't as much of a thing, a lot of families will go to France in general and have Disney as a day-trip in a bigger vacation.

No problem. Her thread is newer. But Polissa is definitely a trainwreck. I find her interesting, if not infuriating at times, but she’s also my favorite cow. Biased.

There’s both Shanghai and Hong Kong Disney, actually.

The Paris one is still around, but it’s more popular with American tourists. Donald Duck is much more popular in Europe than Mickey, yet Mickey is more prevalent in the Paris park. So a lot of Europeans are weirded out by it because of that. They may visit once but not return unless they’re really big into Disney or dragged there by American loved ones.

It was actually changed to Sugar Rush. Because Vanellope is far more marketable character in Asia.

I've bought this up repeatedly before. Asians are obsessed with youth, or at least the youthful concept. As another poster theorized, probably because once you leave youth behind in Asia, you are now part of the high pressure working class. So in Asian media, everything to do with that period of life is idealized.

It would explain some Asian Womens fascination about reliving their youth.

Also, from related videos on that Toon Town one, why is Jessica Rabbit in a trenchcoat?
maybe I'm just too internet, but Jessica Rabbit in a trenchcoat reads to me as slightly more sleazy than her normal red gear, like she's about to show what's under the trench and I'm expecting it's less than her normal red gear

Ok good, I'm not the only one who thought that.
