Sony hate thread

That Nintendo probably pushed for. Nintendo is the Disney of Japan. In a lot of God awful ways.
The huge two differences between Nintendo and Disney is this, Nintendo still makes good games and they're not as woke while Disney's quality has lost since the 2000s and they are completely woke. That said, they're both huge companies with ridiculous, cutthroat business decisions and these respective fanboys are cringe.

Huh? Assuming you mean the decade, 2000s Disney was total ass. Only hit animated film was Stitch so they started putting him into fucking everything, Paul Pressler was nickel and diming the parks away (and 9/11 didn't help either,) I can't think of a single live action film they made that wasn't a Disney Channel spinoff, etc.

Are you forgetting Pirates of the Caribbean? Even shit like National Treasure, Narnia and every other Touchstone and Miramax (especially considering they've owned the latter until 2011) movie. I'm not surprised that some ADHD zoomer such as you can't even research,

Actually I legit forgot Pirates. The rest of that garbage is just that, garbage. Though now that you remind me of Pirates, let me remind you of Haunted Mansion and Country Bears.

Not my point. Again, they also had National Treasure and Narnia also being popular films and they still had Touchstone in the 2000s and they had a lot of hits. Hell, Pixar was still booming during that decade being more of a golden age for the studio.

Instead of reviving SOCOM (a much beloved game from the PS2 era, as army bros can atest), Jim Ryan is kvetching over Call of Duty. Imagine being that much of a faggot.
I like to think Sony ignores SOCOM because of the hack that shut PSN down for a month. A SOCOM game came out right before it happened.

Would new sony even be able to make a good socom game?
Sure. No Russia, no Ukraine, no Middle East, no tactical gameplay, microtransactions up the wazoo, and diverse customization.

I thanks more due to their weird IP laws.
It doesn't appear to stem from that. The ruling was some autistic shit regarding the save game modding that I'm baffled ever made it to court.

It's pretty weasley too. While it's not "illegal" to mod your own console, providing that as a service is against the law. While you can edit your own saves distributing programs to do so is banned. They also added some bit about barring unofficially sale of game keys like that makes sense or would actually stop the grey market since it's global. Attempting to stop the distribution of save editing software is stupid as hell too.

It wasn't. The launch sucked, it was hard to come by a console, the games at launch included crap like The Bouncer and Summoner. From 2003 onwards it caught a stride and by late 2004 there was a glut of incredible games, but it was never smooth sailing throughout.

2001 had FFX, GTA 3, DMC, MGS2, Klonoa 2, Twisted Metal Black, Jak and Daxter, Silent Hill 2, Onimusha and Ico. You're retarded.

I think I liked the PS2 better than the PS5. I hardly played anything on PS5 and got in December. I think I played the stupid free robot game the most. I'm replaying Atomic Heart on it because I missed the test rooms when I played it on my Xbox Series S. First game I got for it that wasn't free.

I think it depends on if you judge exclusives simply based off what's exclusive, as Nintendo was still pissing off 3rd parties and Xbox wouldn't get regular Japanese games until the 360. Most of those 3rd party games would probably be multiplat if it was like the 360/PS3 gen. If he means 1st party exclusives then the only ones of those listed would be Jak and Daxter, Ico and Twisted Metal. Still not a bad library for the 1st year, and there's a few more that came out.

Either way it shouldn't be a knock on the console as most of those are great games, multiplat or not. What should be knocked was how shitty the PS2 Fatboys were, and how many would break.

Exclusive means exclusive, it doesn't matter first party or third party.

You don't become the number 1 best selling console of all time by only hitting your stride two years before the PS3 comes out.

It does matter when a lot of your exclusives are on there by default due to other consoles being new or pissing off 3rd parties. More and more 3rd parties became multiplat into the PS3 and onwards, and especially now with the Switch getting more games that would have been on PS4/5 only by default. I don't even need to mention pc.

This wouldn't be an issue with a quality 1st party lineup of studios, of course, but Sony since PS4 have been hit and miss on that.

I get this is the Sony hate thread, but you do realize that "Those exclusives don't count because the other consoles didn't get them" is kind of fucking retarded, right?

Especially when you're pulling a more recent trend of games going multiplatform for an era where it didn't happen the same way because of console design differences?

Edit: The better argument for them not being "true" exclusives would be that almost all of them ended up on the Xbox within a year or two of release on PS2.
