This just made me think about my problem some more. My computer was elevated, but I wonder if the static from the blanket was traveling along my fabric-y headphone cord. The blanket was never anywhere near the tower, so I never worked out why it was the problem, only that it was the problem. Mystery (maybe) solved! Thanks!Is your computer or monitor on carpet? If I get up from my chair too fast the static will trip something and my monitors turn off. I have to get up really slowly to avoid it. I used to think it was a random issue but then I noticed it only happens when I move a bunch. It happens even though my system is plugged into a battery so I assume the static is getting in thru a usb cord. Might be your issue.
