Games like Call of Duty and Battlefield gave a lot of late Millennial and Gen Z a knowledge of firearms not awarded to past generations who weren't interested in guns, games give you a connection to a firearm that a movie or tv show can't, hell personally I am a massive fan of the F2000 because of MW2 and that is a very common story for a lot of newer gun owners. It sounds like a joke, but your average Zoomer has a better understanding of how a gun works than anyone in the Californian Government, this is probably one of the reasons they are pushing all those new advertising laws regarding guns.

It's also noticable here in Europe that new media has affected the youths view on firearms. Polenar is a good example of europeans making their own spin on guntubers.
My local shooting range has one class a year of new shooters getting their licence etc. Used to be 2-3 new ones a couple of years ago, now it's 8-10
