I am very surprised that nobody has made a thread for Garry's Mod yet, since that is one of the most popular games on Steam.

Garry's Mod, also known as GMod, is a popular sandbox game released in 2006 that uses Valve's Source Engine. Since there is no aim to the game, the fun of the game is creating and building whatever shit you can make. There are two parts of GMod that I know of, the mulitplayer mods such as prop hunt and jail break, along with other mods and there is the part of GMod that some people use to create images and treat it as a secondary Source Film Maker/SFM and MikuMikuDance/MMD replacement, and as such, people make a lot of models for Garry's Mod.
Alright! I got GMod as a gift from a friend yesterday.

Any other Kiwis that play the game Garry's Mod so I can learn how to make dank stuff on there.
And I'm also going to try to learn to use Blender just so I can make models for Garry's Mod.
Also, link stuff for models if anyone is interested.

Whenever I boot up G-Mod, I usually play Trouble in Terrorist Town, Zombie Survival, Prop Hunt, or Death Run.

TTT in particular is very fun and addictive. You can't trust anyone, which induces a sense of paranoia and fear that can lead to you making rash decisions. Playing as the traitors is also really fun as you can use various tools and traps in the level to pick off people. It's a very cathartic experience.

My username is Stitch_Lips if anyone wants to play.

I mostly just use Garrys Mod for messing about and pictures. Actually found some Slig NPC & Playermodels on the workshop so been having a lot of fun with that. Particularly playing the HL2 maps with one (and the added spawning perks of gmod) ended up messing one run because I shot Breen while in the teleporter, which really is 100% in character for a Slig...

Also, I wouldn't mind learning to Blender for this. If you learn anything especially helpful, do share!

I mainly animate with it; stop motion mainly

Anyone here play Morbus? It's literally John Carpenter's The Thing in game mode form. It's quite well made and has been around since at least 2011 when I started playing it. It's lots of fun and personally I think a Kiwi game night or something featuring this game mode would be an absolute blast. This group often hosts events on its servers for people to join in and play.

Here's a story of one of my Gmod trolling moments:
I was on GFL's 1942 WW2 occupation server a couple months back, mic spamming Moon Man songs. I stumbled upon a group of resistance players called "The Weeaboos". Since I was Mic spamming Moon Man, I decided to play this:
.
About 30 seconds into the song, they started to charge at me with katanas. I managed to run towards the reich, where the Weeaboos killed me and got into a fight with the reich, in which the Weeaboos got rekt. The Reich then decided to raid their hideout, which the Weeaboos failed defending with katanas and a suicide grenade charge while screaming Banzai. The result was that the weeaboos were wiped out.

Short version: Mic spammed a song that got bunch of weeaboos mad and instigated a war between them and the reich.

Thread bump.

Are there any interesting game modes as of today that you guys like? Because there’s a lot like elevator source, cinema, prop hunt, and ZWorld afterlife.

I’ve been mostly walking around cinema.

I spent most of my time bhopping since most of the bhop servers in css are kinda dead except for one. I came back recently after like a year long break from it and it's still pretty fun. Also learning how to bhop makes you pretty much impossible to deal with in deathrun.

Jailbreak with randoms is also pretty fun. Being an abusive warden is pretty funny, and getting a gang of prisoners together to find guns to kill guards is also cool. Outside of those 2 I occasionally play DarkRP. Mainly just so I can become a cop and start shooting people.

Do you ask "the question"

I don’t usually go to those servers. Usually back in the day I would go onto GMod Tower for things. Its not around anymore because it’s it’s own game now called Tower Unite. I have a thread on that game.

To this day, I go around THAB servers on Gmod.

Over 600 hours in this
TTT is the best mode, all the rp's are boring as shit, Melonbomber is awesome but barely anyone plays it, and my game crashes if I try to use cinema, most of the others are ok.
Always love pissing off a server by mass rdming, false reporting is funny as shit too.
