Of course it's massive the thought that she should get right to the point because these are extremely busy people is totally foreign to these types because they're used to getting bad marks for short papers and writing pieces designed to cite a bunch of their friends into group relevance.​

I love all the pictures of them there, Anita looks fine but somehow Zoe thought getting ready to speak at the UN involved covering up her tats and dying her hair a respectable shade of purple with matching finger nail polish. The gauges and choker necklace are great too. She should have had her hair back probably but if you're going to keep it forward at least use it to hide your gauges. She might not agree with the conservative nature of some of the people she's speaking to but if you actually give a shit about your cause you put those sorts of things aside so that you can effectively deliver your message. But this was a cool moment for zoe and she doesn't actually care. All of the the background people look completely uninterested in anything they have to say​

You can't go into the UN where a bunch of these people have fought in actual wars, escaped genocide, and survived the systemic raping of their women and children, where at work every day they're trying to tackle slavery, famine, war and pollution and get taken seriously just for having citations and high gloss paper like in the USA. Zoe and Anita were not expecting this because even their bad days are probably relatively comfortable compared to at least a few billion other people on the planet and they probably resent having their time wasted.
Does anyone know anything about the people an process involved in getting them there?

These are not unfortunate frames off a video these are off of her shoot and presumably as hot as she could look in her prime and since someone intended to make money off these, also touched up in photoshop. Most people's glamor shots from the mall look better than this.

Several UN entities formed a working group to author a paper on the online harassment of women, which they termed "online violence."

Neither Sarkeesian nor Quinn seem to have been involved in the working group or with authoring the paper. It looks like they were simply two of many people asked to speak at the launch of the paper (which has since been retracted), presumably because they were victims of "online violence."

What in the actual fuck. I can't believe the UN selected people to work on that. Like I could have written up better content than that. I get the length and fluff now though. If they put together a whole group of people to work on that paper they needed to make it look like they did something. There simply isn't that much legitimate to say about it, there is some swatting, stalking, cp, there are dudes creeping on little kids in chat, some school bullies, revenge porn , and some human trafficking I could get probably 27 pages out of that including some illustrations, a table of contents, cover pages, citations, some words on prevention and mitigation, glossery, and an introduction. At least my version would be on point and worth talking about. Still almost half the size of what they got.

They didn't even touch on ISIS using the internet to lure teenage girls to be slaves and that had been and still was hot news at the time.
