Lol, no. Tevin had his spergy moments, but he didn't try to form a community and was against all the faggotry that the SoK did. During the interview, when Phil was asked about the 5k a month in business expenses, he prefaces his response with, "I don't do my own taxes, I have a tax guy" But then he says he's working on it [the taxes] for this year, then he begins to rattle off a list of things "What are considered expenses that your tax attorney wants to know you spend every month" which is a super weird way of twisting the phrase "business expenses"

The first thing Phil lists is his mortgage. He says "because if you work from home, i guess that's part of it, i don't know, again I'm not a tax guy, but the cost of your mortgage"

Craig cannot believe what he's hearing, so he cuts Phil off and asks Phil if he really doesn't know anything about his own taxes or expenses, and Phil says he just gives info to his tax guy and that's it.

Much later, they ask Phil about the 5k in business expenses again, and Craig remembers that Phil mentioned his mortgage as an expense. Craig begins to explain how you cannot list your mortgage as a business expense, and Phil interrupts and says "MHMM .. again I dunno"

Craig continues to explain, and Phil looks down and picks at his hand, looks to the side, rocks back and forth, looks down again, looks to the side again, etc. He seems very uncomfortable. Then, Adam chimes in and mentions that claiming your mortgage on your business expenses is illegal, and Phil starts to fidget in his chair even more. He even reaches down to the bottom of his chair for some reason, then comes back up and does something weird with his mouth.

It seems to me that Phil plays dumb about not knowing anything about his taxes or business expenses, and uses his tax guy as a shield. He says he doesn't know anything about his business expenses after 15 years of doing this, but also says that he's working on his taxes and has every expense listed in an excel spreadsheet.

I don't know anything about this stuff, and this is completely speculative, but to me it seems likely that Phil claimed his mortgage as a business expense, knows that this is illegal and that he should not have done this, and feigns ignorance of his business expenses and puts it all on his tax guy as a way to weasel out of it.

Unless the tax guy is just as corrupt and stupid as Phil and willing to risk his career on some random guy who sends him flagrantly false information, which I should say right now I don't believe is the case.

What I think is actually happening is that Phil is including his full mortgage and either lying that the majority of his house is somehow being used primarily for his buisness, or lying about the property's purpose entirely. I worked for a buiness that was run out of a house, as in the entirety of the house save for 1 room was used for the buisness and that room was rented to an employee but that might have been under the table. It would not surprise me if that was Phil's claim is that the entirety of his house is being used that way and that he uses just the bedroom as personal space.

Because Phil was classic cornered there. The reason he couldn't just make a false account was because as I recall WWE Champions has a real shitty hold on your account. It was explained in that thread, but you really can't sell your account because its like hard tied to a phone. And recovering it to a new phone is a giant pain. And whats more is I've played games that make switching accounts all but impossible. Usually you lose the first one. So Philly boy couldn't just start a new one.

Phil simply plays dumb to cover up his expenses because he lies to both. He HAS TO KNOW what he's handing in to his tax guy. It makes little sense that he just grabs a handful of papers and hands it to his tax guy and it just happens to be everything he needs. His tax guy would be telling him to keep records in case he gets audited since his tax guy won't be the one to get in trouble. "I didn't know" isn't a valid defense, everybody should know this.

His health insurance is easy to pass, his meals and doordash fees aren't. I wouldn't even try to pass them off as that since he orders DoorDash so often for his regular meals. His Home office one is the wobbly one. His two internet lines are definitely going to fuck up his deductions since he uses both for personal and work related stuff, he refuses to his phone and wants strictly e-mail only communication which means his phone bills aren't deductible. If he uses that office for anything else other than business related reasons, that will also limit what he can deduct.

They do have a whistleblower department, but it requires you to use real identifying information, actual paper work, physical evidence of the fraud, and must be signed under oath. Even Doody must realize that if not done correctly, there will be repercussions from it as it's hard to get physical evidence of Phils tax fraud as it's really only his statements and would require watching hundreds, if not thousands, of hours of his boring content.

I actually buy that Phil doesn't know shit about his finances and he's panicking because he's being called out on not being an adult. We know he just hires a tax guy from the bank leaks. Tax guy probably asks for everything, Phil hands it over and just makes minimum payments on whatever downpayment plan he's on. It also shows that, he really does live paycheck to paycheck and is completely incapable of planning for anything. Even the bills Phil pays daily I bet he gets surprised by because he just doesn't retain information. And we've seen him get caught off guard by reoccurring payments before with Origin and I think some other gaming service. He probably just automates as much as possible and only worry about the other payments when they're right around the corner, then fail to retain anything about how much he typically owes.
