I think this is less a "male privilege" thing and more the media wanting to conceal that she was a tranny by any means necessary. Nobody is going to believe Audrey was an actual biological male, and it doesn't seem like she went very far with her transition, so they're pretending she never trooned out. If Audrey had legally changed her name to Aiden, cut her tits off, was growing a stache, etc. it would be a different story.

I imagine a male shooter of the same general profile (shutin schizo autist who IDed as trans but did little to socially transition) would get the same treatment. IIRC Randy Stair was never referred to as she/her.
