There's not much that can be done about public schools zero tolerance policies. I got suspended a couple times for defending myself against bullies and punishment was always equal. Where there's a break in trajectory is the absence of a father at home. When you break your bully's nose, single mom will yell at you and tell you that violence is never the answer. Dad will take you out for ice cream and explain how violence is the answer to some things but men of maturity and good character must learn when it's appropriate and when it's not. School policies reflect the instincts of single mothers which is why public school hurts a lot more kids than it helps.

As someone born after 1970, I will never get a job that can pay enough to retire no matter my employment. I simply won't, the cost of living rises too quickly. Boomers complain about paying college debts for kids these days, but college cost nothing when they were kids, they know nothing of what the world has become. College should be free, because America can afford it, but only if literally every child doesn't attend and college is cheap to begin with. My mother saw this coming and gave me a "talk" when I was about 12 that the whole world would soon be against me and everyone like me, and that the majority would soon be the minority, if not literally then intellectually. One of the interesting questions is if she was Rx’ed testosterone or not. No evidence yet that she was and no photos show any physical manifestations of it. But she could have easily gotten it if she wanted it. If she was on it it would have probably been very recent, so that would make things spicy.

Her parents stated she was being “treated for emotional disturbance”. Audrey’s parents would have sent her to a Christian therapist. No way they’d send her to some clown that would give her a script for T or would validate her gender identity. Social media bullying and harassment really aren't taken as seriously by the authorities. Probably due to the age difference but also because there its not the same as in your face bullying. Its often much larger numbers of people, sometimes anonymously(even if they can be traced its a pain to do so if your not the police), the effects aren't always visible. And there is of course the option to just disconnect, girls don't do that.

If the authorities for example arrested everyone who drove some miserable teen to suicide by bullying in snapchat-you'd fill up every juvy in the country ten times over. There's no will to solve that problem and it really isn't practical.

Not to mention-anyone involved can say "I was only joking" or "I didn't know they would react this way" or "I just went along with the crowd". As teens often do. How many angry parents would be screaming at the principal because their little angel was suspended for saying shit online? You think parents defend their kids over actionable stuff like assault, rape, and the like shamelessly? No one would accept severe punishment being doled out for what amounts to being mean online for their kids.

Sure a school system could make a policy of suspension if some girl has her feelings hurt on Tiktok by her peers-but that's just not sustainable. The volume of actionable offenses is too high and the cost not worth the benefit.

Its just a massive hassle for what amounts to no gain, so school systems tend to ignore social media bullying and abuse, even if they are more savvy as to what social media is.

You need actionable threats like death or rape threats or something-and even then schools don't act unless pressured to do so.

Yeah, all of this is 100% the profile for a shooter with psychosis. The fact that they're going with the euphemism of "emotional disturbance" instead of giving a DSM diagnosis tells me it's something EXTREMELY serious that they didn't want the neighbors to know.

A friend of mine I was talking to about this made the same point -- a lot of the psychotic killers do family annihilation first in a misguided save them from the shame.
