Transitioning is an experimental treatment proven to not work that is tried in a fraction of the Chronic Gender Dysphoria cases, and sex reassignment ("gender affirmation treatment") is only suggested to a tiny fraction of which transitioning doesn't work -- and in theory, SRS requires you transition and maintain for years before they'll try it.
So it's a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of 1%. Or at least it was supposed to be before the Marxists successfully took over mental health.

Personally I think 3 Gun or something similar is perfect for self defense training.
Its a fun sport, but its focus on speed, shot placement, and targets with varying distance, size, and available time, some moving, makes you fucking lethal if it ever came down to you having to defend yourself.
Having points deducted for hitting bad targets too teaches you extremely rapid target aquisition and recognition which increases safety too, you're less likely to hit some passerby.
I think standard static fixed range targets are useless for training for self defense. Real situationa don't involve bad guys sitting still at predetermined ranges.
I'd recommend beeper training for anyone with a CCW.
Most of these sick troon fucks brandishing their comically shitty rifles for Twitter selfies buy the things and maybe shoot them a few times and then think they're set.
You need to train constantly in all weathers.

I'd argue that the previous generations (20-30 years ago) when it was called Transexual was when it was more of a real thing for SRS to try to fix. It's still nuts, of course, but Dysphoria was so rare that it was more common to run into hermaphrodites than it was a "trans" person. At some point, the powers that be lumped in Transvestites in with Transexuals and made Transgender. That's it. That's why they are so common.
