Nintendo Switch (Currently Plagued) - Here we shit post about the new Nintendo console, The Switch

That's not the point, the point is switch games run better emulated than on intended hardware, plus you don't have to play a subscription fee for 30yo games or online play.
NO ONE FUCKING CARES. It's a Switch thread because people want to talk about the Switch. You fucking insufferable PEECEE faggots are like Jehovah's Witnesses who can't handle the fact that someone doesn't want to spend thousands of dollars on a system like you.

I deliberately avoid playing on PC because I don't want to become a douchbag nigger who has to shit up every unrelated thread just to tell people their way of playing games is "wrong".

TLDR - Fuck off, cunt.

I agree with you but calm down dude
he's only made like two or three posts about that here anyways, it's not worth blowing up over yet

I just played Super Metroid on my PSP for free.

Why are we arguing about Switch games running better on an emulator? Every game runs better on an emulator. When I used to emulate SNES games they "ran better on an emulator".

Emulation is by and large a workaround for people that can't afford to buy all the new games and systems as they come out. And that's cool; I don't begrudge those people for not having the extra money to dump into pieces of plastic. To that end I used to emulate a lot. But as soon as I could afford to play the games on original hardware, that's what I did. At the end of the day I grew pretty tired of having to tweak options and wait for stability updates and search around for ROMs that won't fuck my PC (less of a problem nowadays).

It is nice when shit just works and (this is my age speaking here) games stopped looking new and amazing a decade ago. Graphics are not improving by the leaps and bounds they once were. It's not even close. Sure I can play Breath of the Wild on a Steam Deck with extra features enabled that make the game have better lighting and AA and whatever the new buzzword tech is. Are we still on ray tracing? But Zelda on the Switch looks good! Really good. And sitting on the sofa with three friends playing a four-player game on original hardware without any hiccups or weird graphical glitches is really nice. Really nice.

The only shot I'll take at the emulation crowd is that for people that are obsessed with playing Nintendo games on a printer, they sure sling a lot of shit at Nintendo and their fans when this is pointed out. :feels:

The point is that despite games running better in an emulator, they require so much tweaking and maintenance that it’s not even worth the trouble to a lot of people. For the original system, you just put your game in and play.
Asserting that emulators magically make all games run better and then immediately acknowledging that they don't is wild. If every game ran better through emulation, Yuzu and Ryujinx wouldn't maintain compatibility lists.

Every time I see people jerk it hard to running BOTW in an emulator I go back and remember those first three weeks where people were proud of running it in a jank shit WiiU emulator that took three weeks to get water to actually appear ingame and had lighting issues longer than that.

I just played Super Metroid on my PSP for free.
Minus the cost of the PSP itself and however long it took you to jailbreak it, get the emulator set up, and why the hell use a PSP when you can use that computer your brag about having what the hell is wrong with you.

I have it on an actual SNES. With box and manual. Got it back when it was new.

...... And if you're willing to jailbreak consoles to run emulators, you know you can jailbreak the switch too, right?

You will probably like Etrian Odyssey.

However! If you get into Skyrim, let me know. I've made an art of running hundreds of mods simultaneously without crashes. My load orders are legendary and legit... and horrendously autistic. Send me a message if you want to know more.
So thing is, my friend sent me the Switch version of Skyrim, which I don't think supports mods.

There is one thing I wanna know though:

I see there's something called the Anniversary Edition. My friend sent me one that had a lot of the major DLCs (Dawnguard etc) but clearly isn't the Anniversary one (as when I boot the game it has a little pop-up telling me the Anniversary one is out now).

AE is on sale right now but I'm not sure if its worth paying thirty bucks for a game I already got for free. From my perspective the main benefit would just be not having to switch out a cartridge.

Been wanting to write here for a bit, as I have been replaying BOTW to try and 100% before the sequel. The idea is to get a good feel of the original, as I will admit, I probably missed a bit of it with my random play sessions and constant restarts over the years. Basically, a replay to properly review the damn game.

For the start, I am mostly going through the worst regions, which I believe are the ones that make up the left/top of the map. This image kinda shows what I mean:

No hate to Tabantha, it is just stuck on an unfavorable side.

In saying this, most of my run so far has been spent in the Wasteland, the Highlands, and Hebra. These are three locations I don’t necessarily like all that much, and my next destination is Eldin as it is also annoying, followed by more wandering in the Woodland area. I currently do not have any of the towers opened as Korok hunting per region is a bitch without the lines.

Things to note for general improvements sequel can make:
  1. Keep borders on the map. I hate that they take them away as it makes keeping track of things difficult along with knowing what region you are in.
  2. Have a way to keep track of Koroks & Shrines. The loading screen depict the counts for each, but there really needs to be an easy to find location for this that isn’t a resource you use like the seeds and spirit orbs are. Not asking for a per region, but just a general total, though having it per region would also go a long way.
  3. Better costumes. Just add better outfits, the ones currently in game look trashy and I hate most outside of the Hylian gear and the Snowquill, I have not liked most of the clothing sets so far. You would think the Gerudo secret club would have cool outfits, but no.

Individual Lands:
  1. Hebra - This land feels like missed potential. There is some really cool stuff here like shield surfing and bowling. The main issue with the land is how little personality it has. A few cool ice cave and the previously mentioned gimmicks can only take it so far. I feel this land really needed a town. It has cute little log cabins in two places, but seriously, it needs like a little Christmas town to liven up the Everest death climb. It should also have the snowstorm rate lessened, really makes it hard to see the region’s beauty. I get what they were going for with it being the challenge area, but the decisions leave the region feeling miserable. You can have a pretty area and a challenging one.
  2. Highlands - Feels like an afterthought. I have no real suggestions for this one as it feels like it shouldn’t have even been included. It is flat-top Hebra. I think they should just leave it as it creates nice space, but it all around is a forgettable land. At best add another npc, as I believe it only has Kass and the Goron brothers with their heat challenge. Also, fuck the rock in a hole Korok seed by that one cliff near the back left
  3. Wasteland - I don’t like this area, but I know people do. The changing weather gets annoying, and it is really stupid you are not let into Gerudo Town without the femboy outfit after killing the Divine Beast. The worst aspect of the region is probably just the dessert and how everything cool in the region is located north of it. I need to do more dessert exploring, but it isn’t really fun to do.

I will probably post up more as I go. Overall, I still really enjoy exploring in this game, so I hope that after finishing up Eldin and Wasteland I have very little issues.

I don’t mind the costumes themselves, but I hate being restricted to only a few options because the good looking ones have shit stats. Miitopia handled it well, where you could equip the cosmetics of one weapon/set of gear while getting the stat benefits of another.

Skyrim Anniversary Upgrade's Steam page said:

ABOUT THIS CONTENT

The Anniversary Upgrade includes pre-existing and new Creation Club content like quests, dungeons, bosses, weapons, spells, and more. With Creations, there is a lot more to discover. You must own Skyrim Special Edition to access this content.

It's $20 DLC that was packed in with newer versions of Skyrim on PS4 & Xbox One. As opposed to Legendary Edition (base + dlc) and Special Edition (base + dlc + incompatibility with older mods in favor of Creation Club, which sells paid mods).

I liked the Dark Fury costume, but it was ungodly expensive to upgrade so I just use ancient armor with whichever divine helm suits the environment.
