Not Just Bikes / r/fuckcars / Urbanists / New Urbanism / Car-Free / Anti-Car - People and grifters who hate personal transport, freedom, cars, roads, suburbs, and are obsessed with city planning and urban design

Is someone who builds large scale construction projects for living I can tell you as a carpenter we have built walkable cities you know what they're called and they've been being built for about 20 years plan communities where we take our clients land we find a bunch of people who want to build on the land and right next to brand new apartment complexes we build strip malls with shopping centers like grocery stores coffee shops barbers restaurants.
And we build these sometimes in some places that are considered smaller cities and also we build these and sometimes an old Farmland in small towns.
It's almost like these things exist outside of major metropolitan areas
These can literally be built anywhere I've built these in small towns medium sized cities small cities college towns all sorts of places and they're not very expensive and then you can go to the grocery store go to the Barber and do all your needs without leaving a five block radius

It's almost like these people's lifestyle is already available through capitalism s*** it's almost like their entire urban planning ideas is just an excuse to rob people of the wealth that they've earned with their own two hands.
And distributed to the parasite class like themselves

They often like to say that walkable neighborhoods are more in demand than suburbs because their rent prices are higher. That isn’t true; there are plenty of affordable walkable neighborhoods, but an urbanist would never live there because of who the residents are.

No one would argue that Westchester County being more expensive than the Bronx is proof that car-dependent areas are more in demand than than walkable areas, but that’s essentially the argument that they’re making in reverse.
The idea of walkable cities/neighborhoods is going to change on a dime, of course.

Expect to see some bullshit on why shitty, undesirable neighborhoods aren't real "walkable" neighborhoods.

This entire urbanist movement, all this shit about walkable cities, etc, is all by and for bugmen. It assumes everyone WANTS to live in a city, like a bunch of ants, with apartments on 5 sides of you, or at best in single family homes with zero lot lines.

Which, to me, sounds like hell. I live on 2.5 acres in a rural area and I have the smallest piece of land in the neighborhoid. Next door neighbor has 10, guy across the dirt road has 25. The rest of yall can have your pod apartments, your bicycles and your walkable cities. Just stay in your ant hives.

I think these urbanists are right on many points but their autism is definitely showing with how absolutely consumed they are by their convictions to the cause. Im glad I live in a place with already good public transport and walkability so I dont need to deal with these spergs wanting to tear up every street to own the carfags or whatever

The real redpill is that there's no such as thing as a "walkable city". All of the big cities have a "walkable" neighborhood that is used by the rich and/or tourists but the rest of it has no such concessions.

I take rather the opposite view: most parts of most cities, and for that matter most small towns, are "walkable" without this requiring any design or policy effort at all. It's not urban planning but physics that makes people build useful things generally close together. It's just not popular to associate this term with neighborhoods you otherwise might not like, which don't specially cater to your interests, and for which you can't make any money by discussing them.

r/fuckcars concept of european life seems to come from hollywood movies about finding love in european capitals.

Like these faggots think we spend our days bicycling from the bakery to the winery while an accordion plays in the background and beautiful women in subdresses wink at you.

Meanwhile if I plan to go to bologna by train I have to bring my engineer falchion knife to discourage niggers from mugging/raping any living thing around.

These people are either willfully blind or have no actual life experience

That's the saddest part about these people. When it comes to certain issues I can somewhat agree with them, but the way they act and present themselves is so smug, annoying and pretentious that I can't help but side against them.

It's all so tiresome.

As someone who is too poor to get a license/car/gas/insurance it's in my own personal best interest to have good public transport and bikeable/walkable cities and towns. But these internet urbanists always cross over into the extremes of the opinions and want cars banned outright and suburbia demolished. I kind of fucking hate how the internet has this extreme ability to turn everyone into a retarded extremist who always have to go off the deep end. They are going to complain until the only thing allowed on the road are buses.

Monaco is so car brained, they use the entire country as a formula 1 racing track.
Monaco has more cars per capita than the US:

Also, Western European countries (excluding microstates) have around 500-800 cars per 1000 people; they are nowhere close to car-free. The holy land of the Netherlands has 588 cars per 1000 people, for example.

Or have you're genitals groped by gypsy woman while the other one tries to steal your wallet.

And they would have more. If not for the fact owning a car in the Netherlands is fucking expensive compared to most of Europe. On top of that. New cars are on average cost 18 to 22 percent more compared to any other EU country because of BMP (Taxation of Passenger Cars and Motorcycles )tariff issued by the Dutch government.

Most Dutch people I know all very much like to have a second car or even a third car. And generally despite fairly decent public transportation here. Well the bus system at least.

You are severely limited here without a car also. Unless you live in a small small city like Emmen or Heerenveen, etc and your work is located in that city or it's industrial park/zone.

Then generally you can go by with a bike as at most you are 20 to 40 minutes away( in typical Dutch windy conditions ) from your work place. And there is always a small shopping area/center nearby (usually in walking distance) with the main one always being at the center of the city. But then again in the Netherlands, the weather is always rainy in one flavor or the other.

Most folks usually go on bikes for very short distances. Unless its middle of a summer.

techbros gotta tech; those companies are so inflated on batshit venture capital it's not even funny. the idea might even have merit in some way, but it's probably not at all economical

(I think something reasonable could be done with these pieces of shit, but mainly they seem to show that the tragedy of the commons is real and that even high-class white Utahs are one damn escooter away from turning into feral niggers, it's the "return the shopping cart" problem all over again)
This video has been posted ITT already but it bears a repost for those who haven't yet seen it:

It's a reasonably unbiased look at e-scooters, their rise and the plague they've become, and why people love them so much. There's also some good clips in here of scooters getting destroyed and thrown off bridges.

This is the situation urbanists want you to endure.

Being forced to share your space with criminals because god forbid you build a high trust society to allow for more communal living.
This is the situation drivers want you to endure

It's easy to pick the worst situation and just say why it's bad as a whole when you're very unlikely to run into those kinds of trouble.

I'm guessing it's some sort of low speed vehicle specifically built to be used in city centres. No way in hell something that tiny passes Euro or NHTSA crash standards.
Yeah, the main draw on those is that they're classified as light quadricycles instead of cars which means much more lenient legislation (apart from being limited to 30 mph). In my neck of the woods, those things are mostly driven by trust fund teenagers since you can get a loicense at 15 instead of 17/18 and while they're piss cheap to run, they're actually eye-wateringly expensive to purchase since you're paying real car money for what is basically a portapotty with an 8 hp outboard motor. Nobody over 18 pilots those unless they're absolute deranged lunatics that managed to make themselves ineligible for a real driver's license, a used Smart car is similar money and like a billion times more usable.
