Sony hate thread

But they always did, there's always some buff-ass Fabio in every game series with big ol' tiddies.

If ever there were a true Dudes Rock game, it'd be Chrono Trigger. The protagonist is an everyday guy who makes friends with three hot human girls around his age, and the three dudes he rocks with are a robot, a frog, and a maō. No human men to get in the way.
I knew they had men in the DOA fighting games, guess I shouldn't be surprised they're included in the spinoffs too.

Yeah but Lucca spends more time greasing Robo's bolt & nuts than talking to Chrono and Alya has her cavecuck.

There was an outrage in 2003 when it was announced. Even the artist of the song they licensed as the theme was fucking pissed because it was demeaning to women etc.
Probably from actual puritans and regular feminists, not total lunatic SJWs.

You have me intrigued. Quick question: do I have to play the first two games, or is this a more "standalone" title?

I played Covenant without knowing anything about the other games and it affects nothing the story.

There's literally no sexy anywhere in society now. There used to be good looking women on billboards, magazines, commercials.

Now everyone is either extremely fat and black or extremely ugly and gay with toothpaste hair.

Holy shit, if you want to coom so much just friend all of your female coworkers and former classmates on FB.

I think what @Sniperwoof means is that, as a whole, there is a lack of beauty in media and society. Moreover, there is a purposeful effort to deny beauty and replace it with mediocrity and ugliness. This is why we get games nowadays that may be technically more advanced that those made a decade or two ago yet the characters and art direction are worse than those found in older games and it is all driven by ideological agendas.

Here's a compromise: up the age for the women depicted in the game to counteract any potential allegations of child pornography.

The woman in the cover of Shadow Hearts: Covenant (Karin Koenig) is 25 years old. Anyone making CP connections to such a character should not be listened to.

It was before the dark times, before Kween Anita.

That scam artist is patient zero as to why so much of the gaming industry is the way it is now.

I’m willing to argue that Sonybros loved Mortal Kombat so much that when it was announced that they’d tone down the fan service but keep the extra amounts of gore and FATALITY™ in it for the last installment, that was the first time where gamers went from “😯” to “🤔” in a span of a week to almost a month.
They still bought MK11 at the end of the day, so my opinion might just be moot.

I replayed Shadow Hearts Covenant recently, great game.

One of the party members side quests is to get different colored panties which you can equip, have different stat bonuses, and see during combat via upskirts.

I tried imagining a current year Sony game having something like this and I hurt my brain. They're almost a completely different company.
Once upon a time, on PSP, FF Type 0.
Article Full text below, TL;DR: Making panties for female characters is fun for character personality and players excitement.

Sayoko Hoshino, pictured right, was in charge of character texturing on Final Fantasy Type-0. For her contribution to Square Enix's ongoing "Creator's Message" series at the game's official blog, Hoshino decided to share details about her work on the game's panties.

Originally, the game was set to have black voids for the insides of the characters' skirts. This decision was made due to the system's specs limiting the amount of resources they could devote to the characters. However, the staff felt that because players would spend most of their time viewing the backs of the characters, the feeling of excitement would be much greater if there was more than just a black void inside the skirts.

As you might expect, adding in the panties wasn't a straightforward task. First off, the characters' legs were directly connected to the skirt, so there was actually little space for the panties. However, Hoshino feels that she and her staff were able to bring out uniqueness for each character.

Hoshino went character by character detailing the panties and undergarments, but I have to admit that I'm all panited out for the day, so if you want the details you're going to have to read it at the official blog (JP link, but gamefaqs have apparently translation of dev comments on design)
"Queen's are white to show her intelligent and honest personality.
White is a color that makes things look large so while a quick glance makes it stand out, on the other hand it makes her butt look to big and that would be no good.
Because of that, we made hers a bit hi-leg style, so they ended up quite sexy."

"With Rem, we went with the very first thing we thought of.
Light pink with fluffy frills on the trim. On the front, a ribbon.
Rem is strong of heart but, she's also a bittersweet girl that makes your heart go "KYUN!" moreso than the rest, so that's the direction we took it in."

"Next is Sice. This is one we fussed over a bit.
She's a strong, gallant, cool girl but she's always serious about her underwear too.
We designed hers with a "If you want to look, then why not?" kind of confidence, but a "but if you do, I'll kill you" kind of scariness bundled together.
The bottom is a glossy, shocking pink, and the sides are black lace."

"For underwear of the as-of-yet unrevealed Cinque, I was worrying about it all the way up until the end.
At first they were light purple lace, but it somehow gave the impression of an office lady in her 20's.
When you caught a glimpse, instead of feeling like "oh, lucky!", it was more like, "Oops, sorry, I accidentally saw", so I rejected that."

"BTW, my(Hoshino's) highest recommendation is...

Actually Seven's!! I was most fixated on hers

My second favorite is Emin... Oops, that's still a secret"

We need more beautifully autistic women like this in gaming. Less troons and feminists.

They were there naturally until the push for diversity kicked them out. That's the fucking irony of the whole thing. It got to be about hiring who was the loudest to show they're a good company over who would actually get work done because those people were too quiet about being... well, themselves. They'd talk more about the game - their passion - rather than about being X, Y, or Z.

Also there were some antics like at Blizzard that were a concern, but I'm still not sure how true all of that was. If it happened it's because they got rockstar energy and they were fucking nerds, that's gonna create some hostile environments. Plus I can believe it because they became male feminists way too easily and you only really do that if you have shit to hide.

I believe that. The example I always think of is Neil Cuckmann pushing Amy Hennig out of Naughty Dog.

Remember when Sony made NBA games for their platforms? Yeah, me neither.

I miss sports game competition.
I do, vaguely, and from I've played they were middle of the road and forgettable. Sega Sports did a better job on the Dreamcast, and that was a few years prior.

Sadly, the only sports games coming out these days are from 2K or EA.

And that's after the Dreamcast failed, btw
Its because the Dreamcast failed. Most sports licensing agreements had carve-outs allowing console makers to also make a version. After the DC was discontinued Sega lost that and didn't have the financial resources to actually bid on specific rights to make third party sports games.

I literally meant that, but I didn't word it properly.
