This. Redditors praise EU for passing all kinds of privacy laws regarding social media, but the motivation behind those laws being passed isn't that EU is now libertarian or whatever the fuck, but simply that EU has absolutely fucking loathed the idea that there is something operating in Europe at such a scale which they do not have direct control over. Making these US based social media platforms as toothless as possible is the next best thing to do.

Which is funny because they used to treat him as god's gift to mankind just a couple of years ago.
Seeing Reddit flip just because he started pandering to the other side of the culture war (with some of the most listless and pathetic right-wing memes) is really something.
It's like with Trump. Any person with basic grasp of reality could see Elon for the stupid billionaire grifter he always was, but because he owned Tesla and was popularizing electric cars he was a Good Guy. The moment he said something stupid about "cancel culture" or whatever he is suddenly a Bad Guy. Absolutely zero critical thinking. It's Pavlovian responses all the way down.

Prolly you'd have to look at their financial reports and if that 0.1% revenue really mattered.

If uncle Sam pays their expenses and gives them reduced rates on everything that's probably how I'd hide it.

Does anyone else think it's ironic that the media organization accused of being beholden to a political party had to get public affirmation from the mouthpiece of said political party to prove they aren't government affiliated?
