The Critical Drinker

Of all human beings existing in the world, the goddamn, fatso, leftoid, ultra-procrastinating, Mufasa-obsessed, degenerate gooner & pro-beastiality furfag, who gets his pasty ass buck broken by a limp-dick nigger (he posts about it on his Twitter, you can see it on his own thread, it's fucking nightmare fuel), has no right to criticize him, specially not without any self-reflecting of his own.

TCD is an objectively better human being, even just talking from a professional standard alone. Hell, not being a lolcow alone is a good thing in comparison to YMS.

I can tell before even watching it that this is the usual "le Scottish based man bad", but this time it's combined with the fact that it's seething from jealousy that TCD is essentially the absolute opposite of literally everything YMS is.

Shit, did anyone archive this?

Don't worry, apparently it's being re-uploaded.

I think once you willingly upload pics of yourself in drag with your dick out and the aftermath of getting butt-fucked by your gay nigger boyfriend then I think it is 100% official that you lose the right to criticize anyone. Not just movies. But any and everyone. It's not just being a degenerate on the internet but it shows that you make really bad judgement calls.

It's back. I downloaded it just in case it goes away. +30 minutes were added compared to the last video.

Here's a summary:

- Adum agrees with Drinker that major studios see filmmaking as soulless cash grab.

- Adum disagrees with Drinker that most modern movies are bad, arguing instead that it's specifically the blockbusters that are bad, and that smaller/independent/foreign films are often good or great.

- Adum says Drinker could use his platform to promote good movies rather than recommending only well-known movies and shows; but also points out that Drinker shows no interest in seeking out movies that he might enjoy.

- Adum disagrees with Drinker that movies used to be better; says arguing that "good" have a legacy and so we still know about them. He also says modern writers are NOT worse than they used to be.

- Adum agrees with Drinker that people won't see a movie based on the actors. Adum argues that this is actually good, as it means the audience understands more about the film industry and what determines quality.

- Adum agrees with Drinker that a movie should be judged on its own merits and not for is political or social commentary. However, he points out the hypocrisy in the Drinker's stance on The Sound Of Freedom since Drinker argues the movie is good because of its politics.

- Adum's says that Drinker isn't applying his own logic to everything, just to the things that he dislikes. (i.e., "be honest, you're here for the identity politics stuff" ) Identity politics shouldn't replace the substance in a film.

- Adum agrees that politics often does this, he insists that political messaging is not innately detrimental. Adum also argues that politics are nothing new, but he says politics had previously celebrated the 'straight white male' culture, so was "less noticeable" to straight white males.

- Adum says it's weird that Drinker's channel is a "movie review" channel for people who aren't very interested in films, and are more interested in the identity politics surrounding them.

- Adum briefly talks about MauLer and dismissing the idea that MauLer represents everything wrong with modern day film criticism.

- Adum requests that, should the Drinker choose to respond to this video, he does it at length so that he can address every point that Adum makes. Adum says he feels that this would be the most constructive approach for all parties.

- Adum complains about the video quality of the Russell Brand video on Critical Drinker.

Most likely they will "debate" each other in the future. That might depend on Drinker's response to this video, if that even happens.

There are some startlingly charitable opinions about this guy in this thread.

I started avoiding his videos a while back, the whole "I'm an incorrigbile rogue who loves whiskey and strippers!" thing he's doing comes off like someone who used to be a nerd and is now trying to make up for it, the pandering to insecure masculinity obsessed culture wars fans is insufferable and patronizing, he's not a particularly funny dude, there's just no reason to watch his videos.

As for YMS, whatever gay shit he's doing or posting on his Twitter isn't my concern in this context. Their job is to make videos, and when the planets align and YMS actually uploads he sometimes makes something interesting. Idk if I can say that about a single one of TCD's videos that I've seen. They're forgettable shovelware (shovelmedia?) intended to capitalize on trends, exactly like most of the movies he covers.

I've been listening to open bar a bit lately because it's always fun to see people shit on woke Hollywood trash, but the main videos are pretty boring.
Adum briefly talks about MauLer and dismissing the idea that MauLer represents everything wrong with modern day film criticism.
Mauler is just using the same exact formula that YMS helped popularized but even longer so... What? It's just a gigantic break down of every logical inconsistency in a film or unrealistic thing. That was Adum's ENTIRE gimmick.

Adum also argues that politics are nothing new, but he says politics had previously celebrated the 'straight white male' culture, so was "less noticeable" to straight white males.
I mean, I knew he was a gay furry into bestiality already so I shouldn't be surprised, but its still dissapointing. Does he actually say it on those words or is he more subtle?

Because afaik he is usually way way way more subtle, like when he was bitching about people not liking the brokeback mountain episode in the last of us you can tell he was seething but he didn't use the word "homophobia" even once, he's usually very careful around this type of language.

Adum says it's weird that Drinker's channel is a "movie review" channel for people who aren't very interested in films, and are more interested in the identity politics surrounding them.
This is a very telling comment. It's Adum letting his film snobbery come out. In essence it's "I don't watch movies, I appreciate films." The Drinker, love him or hate him, is a reviewer of "guy" movies. High and low concept action movies, war movies, horror that kind of stuff. Not what is considered film, by the more snobbish. His audience will not enjoy a review about a touching drama about 2 gay black drug dealers trying to buy a house in Vermont while eating pudding.

YMS and the Drinker are two different channels, with two different audiences. I feel like he is ankle biting a more successful reviewer, to try to draw some clout to himself.
