𝕏 / Twitter / X, the Social Media Platform Formerly Known as Twitter / "MUSK OWNS TWITTER"

My point is like, NPR at least has SOME grounds to “um ackshually” it, but the BBC is LITERALLY, undeniably, state-funded and thus state-affiliated.
Absolutely, but it's also a question of whether it's worth it to tag their accounts that just post Premier League highlights or Richard Ayoade quips. That might be giving him pause.

BBC News should already be tagged, no question.

Niggas who listen to NPR sniff their own farts anyways
What's Elon's endgame with this? Lulz? Is he trying to own the feds despite them paying him?

Cringe. The endgame is to be so cringey the left is shamed off the platform.

Honestly if I bought a site as terrible as Twitter, i’d fuck around with it and drive people nuts too.
He should do what Ebay did and slowly change the defaults colors of the website to something horrible looking.
A long time ago, Ebay's default color scheme was yellow and the owners decided to change it to white. A large portion of the user base started complaining that they hated the new look. Ebay decided to change it back to yellow, but every day going forward, they changed the color of the website one hexidecimal shade closer to white. Over a long period of time, their website was the color that they wanted and none of the users even noticed it had changed.

None of these big news media organizations are any more "free" than RT and are forced to tow the state department line and pump out political propaganda 24/7.
Speaking of RT... :story:

Watching overpaid westoid journo scum get mad at something so trivial is one of the purest forms of comedy out there, especially when their several thousand word passive aggressive article boils down to them whining about receiving the same treatment and standards that they are pushing for their enemies.

I thought Ellen Musk promised that he will eliminate the bot problem in the first place, some based journalist (and gamer) doesn't think that:

At this point, every promise made from Elon Musk, he did the exactly the opposite. This billionaire is so slimy on his principles shows how much of a buttgoy he is. I was skeptical before, now I completely despise him now!

Because the BBCs charter which it is meant to stick to as part of what lets it be funded by the country and one of the main points of that is;

(1) To provide impartial news and information to help people understand and engage with the world around them: the BBC should provide duly accurate and impartial news, current affairs and factual programming to build people’s understanding of all parts of the United Kingdom and of the wider world. Its content should be provided to the highest editorial standards. It should offer a range and depth of analysis and content not widely available from other United Kingdom news providers, using the highest calibre presenters and journalists, and championing freedom of expression, so that all audiences can engage fully with major local, regional, national, United Kingdom and global issues and participate in the democratic process, at all levels, as active and informed citizens.
It's getting public money to be impartial. Now it is failing badly in that (and to be fair has always let biases creep in since it was created) but on paper at least it is state-funded but specifically not state-affiliated because it is intended to provide facts, not what the government of the day demands they say.

that whole idea is such dishonest bullshit

they can talk big about "independence" and "impartiality" in their fancy documents all they want, but at the end of the day the board and the director of the organisation are literally appointed by the government.

It is. On paper at least though the intent is that they should be independent and the truth should be a higher calling than whoever picks their bosses. The body that oversees them is also supposed to be similarly independent and even-handed in their reviews.

As a counterpoint though the current BBC is heavily progressive obsessed with their left-wing bias blatant to all who possess a brain. And that's after over a decade of right-wing government.

The board and directors are very vulnerable to external pressure groups like many other organisations. And the government allows that to a degree because they're not meant to keep a close hand on the organisation because of the charter. So it's more likely to be influenced by non-state actors than the annointed leaders.

It suffers from the same flaws as policing in the UK. The policing model was centred on policing by consent and unlike what preceded it they were meant to hold people accountable no matter their social status. It had to function at the will of the people and no-one was allowed to be exempt from it. So naturally various individuals and groups dedicated their efforts to subverting that and ensuring there would always be exceptions to those rules which is why the police and the BBC are both borderline gutted in terms of public opinion.

It's still funny though. I like watching retards screech about funny guy

NPR got flagged as state-run media lol
No, "state-affiliated" media. Which it is. This should not even be controversial because it is simply a fact.

Remember they literally sued him to get him to buy it when he was trying to back out, realizing what an enormously money-losing proposition it was to buy such a worthless pile of shit.

Yeah, people gotta remember that Elon is just fucking around at this point, as far as he’s concerned he already flushed that $44 billion down the toilet. Twitter is possibly the most expensive impulse buy in history, Elon HAS no endgame because he never actually seriously thought about what he’d do with Twitter once he had it in his hands.

it's hilarious to watch though
thank god that we can be alive during a time where a famous billionaire buys out one of the most prominent companies in the world and proceeds to repeatedly take massive shits all over it purely to piss off the progressive lunatics who inhabit and are addicted to it
the catharsis is to die for

As much as posters here want to believe otherwise, he’s failing pretty miserably at pissing off progressive lunatics. They still have their site, they still have their check marks, still have their reach, users can still get banned for mis gendering, still no trump. There was a million times more leftist angst every single day Trump was tweeting.

Far more than being pissed the discourse is more often everyone cringing at the cringiest divorced man to ever get divorced.
