Edit: Oh, Variety says Ghostbusters got a 3.4 million opening night, which is kind of shit if you consider it an action movie but good for a comedy. On the other hand it only need to make back 144 million to recoup costs. Doubt it'll play well in China though.

Part of the issue is that the tranny character only exists to dump walls of text on you about how trans they are and what a struggle it is for them to be a tranny person.

Another problem is that all of this is in a setting where you can change your gender with a handful of gold or some low level magic. Trans characters just don't make any sense in a setting where gender dysphoria is fixed rather easily.

That article is the sort of rage inducing tripe you get when you take a bunch of stories that are somewhat complicated, conduct all your research on Kotaku, remove all the nuance, and use it to justify your social agenda. The Allison Rapp condensation and the way it basically fucks up every single part of the Tracer thing is especially telling.

Also, on topic, minor characters that give you their life story everytime you ask them a simple question is frequently bad writing and really annoying when it's clearly just a conversation so that the author can virtue signal about it later.

At least when Dragon Age Inquisition did it you are supposed to care about the tranny because they are the subordinate of one of your party members and the follow up quest has you choose whether they live and you get their services as a perk or whether you make another faction happy and you get info from their intelligence service as a perk (which also makes your party member sad about his now dead friends).

Exactly. There's even a cursed item which changes your sex when you put it on in BG.

Yeah, so apparently Maddy Myers (isn't she one of the co-hosts of wu's stupid podcast?) wrote an article about how tired she is of guys hitting on her when she's out playing Pokemon Go.

Between this and Wu's 5 catcalls and constant masturbating prank phone calls, these two must be the sexiest women in the whole world.

Its amazing: she starts the article saying she hates talking to strangers, because social anxiety you guys, but then when she's listing all the things that would make being a real-life trainer so cool, one of the first is going to new places and meeting new people! And she doesn't see the cognitive dissonance there.

The article, which is on the Mary Sue, (on cell or would link) is a piece of work: the only "example" she has of being hit on is when her and her loser friends consider it a party to go to a public park at midnight to catch Pokemon, (remember these people are all in 30s and 40s) and a guy "in a hooded sweatshirt" walks near them without saying anything. Wut? She mocks the guys' perceived social anxiety in not chatting them up, even though she suggests it would be creepy to do so, all the while bemoaning her own social anxiety.

The article is a mess of self-contradictory whining. Surprised wu hasn't mentioned it.​

Myers is a train wreck all of her own. When she isn't complaining about not being able to write full time, she's complaining about not being accepted as a 'game journalist' because she has a vajayjay, or she's writing about how her depression has hit her pretty hard. She's about 2 chimp outs of her own from becoming a lolcow in her own right.
