Considering the US Military has had it’s Tank schematics leaked to the War Thunder Discussion Threads more than once, you’d think some of these decision makers would just go “if you’re in any branch of the Armed Forces, you don’t get to have Social Media”.

If nothing else, that’d probably instantly cause the Troons to not want to be anywhere near the Military.

What sites are there to even spread to anymore? Reddit is about as bad as Twitter and I doubt anyone would know the difference if there was a big exodus there.

there's nothing, really, all the other social media sites are so walled-garden locked down that they don't provide the value of twatter (driveby links) and tiktoc might be the closest but it's overrun by zoomers and chicoms.

• He is pissing off progressive lunatics left and right. Have you not noticed their endless seething?
• Many of them have lost their checkmarks (latest is the New York Times), and those that keep them are angrily paying or will have to soon. NPR has stopped tweeting since they got their state-affiliated media label.
• They are losing their reach. Some on their own: Taylor Lorenz and Liz Fong-Jones have self-silenced by privating. But also Musk has changed the algorithms so far-leftists no longer dominate every feed.
• There are still ban-happy woke jannies, but it's not nearly as bad as it was, and you can get away with a lot more anti-troonery, including misgendering. The Babylon Bee is unsuspended.
• Thousands of accounts are back that had been banned often for no reason other than being right-wing and popular. Many more are still wrongly banned but the situation is far better than it was.
• Trump's account is unbanned. He has simply chosen not to return. He probably will in some capacity (such as a campaign account) once the 2024 election season starts heating up.

“Seething” is their default state of being, there is no hypothetical scenario where they would not be seething. They were all seething before Elon, they’d be seething over something else if Elon didn’t own the platform. There’s no denying the seething is absolutely minuscule compared to when trump was posting.

NYT main account is the only one to lose its check mark, and that’s only because Elon had to publicly announce he was removing it because they hurt his feelings. Lame. Every other random journalist writing for whatever leftist blog still has theirs. Including all NYT topic accounts.

Elon has now backtracked over labeling NPR “state media” calling it a “mistake.” The major accounts on Twitter have all the power. If they really are losing reach this probably has more to do with the constant technical errors and loading problems that plague the site.

There's a pretty significant drama developing. It's not just Taibbi. Some other Substack writers have sided with the site against Twitter. Twitter searches for Substack instead redirect to searches of "newsletter" (tried it myself). Eugyppius is probably known to kiwis, as he has a large blog critical of pandemic measures and vaccines with more info and less sperging than usual anti-vaxxers.
Some examples (I could archive, but unsure it's worth it for rants):
