That's the insane thing. For decades now, Democrats have been trying to get Iran to be friends with us as a matter of policy - even as they host their weekly "Death to America!" rallies, continue to fund terror groups that attack US interests, and have more or less declared that they're military allies with Russia. And it seems to me the only reason the Democrats want to do this is simply because Shrub declared Iran a member of the "Axis of Evil."

The vote to get her expelled failed by one (65-30, needed to be 66), the Republicans hold a majority in the Tennessee House of Representatives so someone on their end must be to blame there.

/pol/ watches the Louisiana Board of Pardons and Parole every week and it's pretty depressing who gets let out and who gets told to sit in prison. But those people don't have the Governor telling them to basically do it or else.

Everybody keeps pointing this out, but I haven't seen anyone pinpoint who that vote was yet.

From an article on the vote:
Rep. Gloria Johnson voted in opposition to the expulsion of former Rep. Justin Jones and former Rep. Justin Pearson. Pearson was also able to cast his vote for both lawmakers on the chopping block before being expelled himself.

Pearson’s votes are not recorded in the breakdown of who voted yes or no but are included in the total vote count.

Several State Representatives voted to expel Jones and Pearson, but not Johnson. These swayed votes allowed Rep. Gloria Johnson to keep her House seat.

Rep. Jody Barrett, R-Dickson, Rep. Rush Bricken, R-Tullahoma, Rep. Lowell Russell, R-Vonore, Rep. Mike Sparks, R-Smyrna, and Rep. Sam Whitson, R-Franklin, were the five lawmakers who voted in support of Rep. Johnson, allowing her to remain as District 90′s state representative.

Rep. Russell said he made his decision to keep Rep. Johnson in the House because she did not participate in protests in the same way as former Reps. Jones and Pearson did.

He said Rep. Johnson did not appear to do anything other than stand near the Well and move her lips, while Jones and Pearson were the two who used a bullhorn to “shout and scream.”

“While Johnson needs to be censored for her unacceptable conduct that day, the evidence presented did not warrant her expulsion,” Rep. Russell said. “Had all three participated the same, I would have voted to expel all three.”

Barrett, Bricken, Rusell, Sparks and Whitson are the five Republicans who gave the liberal media the narrative they wanted. Each of them probably share the same single brain cell as well.

I wonder what percentage of people seeing that took it as some serious, organic, 'defend the heckin transarinos' or just saw it all for the bullshit that it is. Long before you could make AI waifus and Dagoth Ur talking about his recent trip to Balitmore, a lot of us started seeing stunts like this as totally performative made up bullshit as a means to an end.

They make their own narratives about national history up as they go along and change them to fit whatever benefits them the most at the time to give their agenda more perceived legitimacy. It's like the people who say "the Founding Fathers were liberal" until its mentioned how they wanted the country to be run. They don't care about history, they don't care about the past, they don't care for tradition, they just care about their objectives and goals.
