Sony hate thread

So I have a crazy theory and wanna know if I am just being retarded. Do you all think that people working on Sony Studios would be feeling a bit humiliated by how Jim Ryan and Soyny overall is fighting so hard to keep COD, all the way to saying that they wouldn't be shit without COD? I'd imagine it must feel kinda sad that you push out those DEEP CINEMATIC MOVIEGAMES and then you have Jim Ryan sucking dick like he is in public. Like he is not telling lies necessarily but...I don't know.

In fact, Jim Ryan bitching the way he is IS very humiliating in general.
I don't think they fucking care.

Any degradation in the price, performance, or quality of play on PlayStation or any delays on release would quickly harm SIE’s reputation and cause a loss of engagement and of
players. As SIE’s CEO, Jim Ryan, explained to the CMA at the Remedies Hearing, if PlayStation received a degraded version of Call of Duty, it would “seriously damage our reputation. Our gamers would desert our platform in droves and network effects would exacerbate the problem. Our business would never recover.”

Remember when Sony made NBA games for their platforms? Yeah, me neither.

I miss sports game competition.
You can thank EA and 2K for the death of sports game competition. EA threw a shitfit when Microsoft was making sports games like NFL Fever, Amped, and Links and basically forced them to sell off the properties. Wouldn't surprise me if 2K did the same thing with Sony.

To feel humiliation you first need to have a sense of shame and humility, the fuckers working at Sony have neither. They are too shameless and arrogant to even acknowledge that COD is in any way necessary or better that the fart huffing "games" they are producing.

Case in point:

Dipshits like Druckmann and his ilk don't care about making fun experiences or pleasing the hardcore gamer audience, they just want a high pulpit for them to lecture and bludgeon their intellectual "inferiors" with their politics. They don't give a fuck if Sony loses COD or if it ends up sinking the company in the long run, they'll fail upwards and move on to another company or industry and continue spreading their cancer for as long as they are allowed to do so.

Going through Horizon Forbidden West on its Ultra Hard difficulty right now; this difficulty really does show how unbalanced this piece of shit is. Everything has melee or ranged attacks, and while they might mix them up, one will always focus on getting in your face, while the others shoot at you or might decide to join in and blindside you while you're focusing on another enemy. Speaking of focusing on enemies, there is no lock on mechanic, and despite everything being a machine that weights anywhere from 200 pounds to several tons; everything runs, jumps, spins, and does aerial acrobatics like an olympic athlete. Since your main character is a mere human, she's easily knocked down and has massive fucking recovery frames, frames that don't always offer invincibility, so after you get knocked down, the enemies can continually fucking rape you. Now throw in the balancing from the difficulty, and everything becomes a massive fucking tank that can take minutes to bring down while you can die very quickly. This isn't a problem as most of the game allows you to run or stealth past the machines, and most fights with solo big machines isn't that bad, it's when there's more than one enemy coming at you does shit become fucking stupid. and that's most of the forced combat events. You can't run, you can't hide, and fighting is a battle of fucking attrition because when one of the enemies continually fucking jump at you, others are shooting at you, knocking you down, and treating you like the retard you are for even doing this shit.

All while the main character's black friend routinely calls for help, but he's not the main character so none of the enemies bother to pay attention to him... but you better believe he cries like he's fighting for his life while you're getting shot and ran down by massive war machines.

Guerilla should've stayed making space nazi shooters. They made an interesting concept, but there's no balance to this shit heap.
Just lower the difficulty.

Gee, if only Microsoft could offer some sort of 10 year contract promising that CoD would get the same features and release dates on Playstation as Xbox.

Reports coming out of a new Playstation handheld being developed under the internal codename "Q-lite".

Penciled in to release toward the end of next year and will have a big focus on cloud gaming.

It will most likely get fucking annihilated by the tail end of the Switch/launch of the Switch 2.

I think Microsoft should absolutely venture into a handheld if they can shrink the Series S chipset enough to fit. They'd basically have to do nothing as far as software support goes, since developers already have to target Series S specs anyway. A handheld like that, particularly if it had all of the Xbox and 360 backwards compatibility, would eat Sony's Q-lite for lunch.

It could be an interesting thing, but I dunno how much they would wanna go there since they are betting pretty hard on making Xbox as a platform fit whatever you have and not a hardware exosystem.

Another chance for Sony to shit the bed releasing a handheld using proprietary formats that they will drop overnight (PS Vita) and for Microsoft to fumble their way into the portable market making again devises nobody wants. (Zune, Kin, Windows Phones).

Sony cannot be trusted to maintain support for a handheld and as for Microsoft, why even bother? If you want to play games on the go there is the Steam Deck and a myriad other Windows based handheld PCs being manufactured right now that can run local games and cloud gaming services. And let's address the 800 pound gorilla in the room of handheld gaming that is Nintendo, The Switch has proven that not only they completely own that space but also the Switch is eating the PS5's and Xbox's lunch with regards to units sold and software sales. For Sony and Microsoft to step into that arena is going to be a money pit.

The only way I can see them having a chance in that space is if they do exactly as Nintendo did and make the PS6 and Next Xbox hybrid devises like the Switch and forget about having to support two stand-alone hardware formats at once (home console/ portable handheld).

You're locked for that playthrough at Ultra Hard. Basically it's mostly designed for playing as a NG+ after you get all the weapon upgrades, since you won't be able to afford them at Ultra Hard.

Also, Git Gud.

Is it actually hard-hard? For instance, anyone who played Days Gone basically played Survival 2 (the hardest setting) as a NG+, but I played it from the start and it was mostly easy so long as you didn't be a bullet-spraying tard about it.

I'd like to think Ryan is one of the few people who isn't up their own ass about what they're doing, and realize that having a cash cow like CoD is important (if only for the money). Damn near all of Sony's first party dev teams come off as auteurs who sniff their own farts about their hand-crafted cinematic experiences. Probably just a disconnect between the business side and the development side; one is working to keep the company afloat, the other is working to satisfy their own ego.

I'm doing it on NG+. I just went the cheese route and used the Legendary Spear on everything.

Most of the machines can't be killed with a silent strike, even some of the elite (non-story bosses) can take multiple silent/critical hits; the story bosses are even worse. Big machines like the Thunderjaw, Slaughterspine, and final boss are absolute damage sponges. Trying to partake in what might be considered a fair fight is suicide; if you can hide, just do hit and run tactics with silent strike; when you're forced into fights, just use one of the OP weapons and just spam shit until they fall down. It's not hard as in a test of skill, it's hard because they upped enemy HP and attack power to insane heights. Days Gone has nothing on this.

I'll admit part of it is my retardation; I try to approach shit like it's Devil May Cry or Ninja Gaiden, where you have an answer for everything an enemy can throw at you.

I'm not aware of how EA in particular forced Microsoft to sell those IPs, thought that was an internal choice. However I do know them getting really pissed off at one of 2k's football games being much more well received and selling better than theirs led to them negotiating with the NFL to get the exclusive rights to making NFL games.

EA has never cared about competition to better their own games. Be it PES vs Fifa or NBA2K vs Nba Live, EA always did their own thing.

I think they'd rather continue building their catalog on phones and tablets with xCloud, and eventually getting their games to run natively on it. If they get Gamepass support on Steam Deck then it'd be pretty redundant to make their own hardware.

If I was Joel, I would have let Ellie Die. Annoying little shit. Plus if Ellie dies then the events of LOU2 would never happen. Thats fucking awesome.
But he had a DAUGHTER. Ellie was AROUND THE SAME AGE AS HER WHEN SHE DIED,

See, it was very sad for Joel to have a dead daughter. She died after 5 minutes of screentime so it really hits the player hard too, and it's not totally obvious that's definitely going to happen even if you go in blind.

SO HE LOVES HER. GOAT GAME OF ALL TIME

EA basically told them if they didn't sell off their sports division then EA wouldn't support the Xbox. If I remember right they tried using similar leverage to fuck with Sega at some point during the lifetime of the Dreamcast too.

Cloud handhelds are retarded. I used xcloud every once and a while and it works well enough but really only for slower paced stuff like JRPGs, VNs, and puzzle games. I don't know why anyone would buy a standalone device for it. I would get a handheld series S equivalent for sure if for no other reason than to have a portable version of the Viva Pinata games.
