Metal Gear

@Dom Cruise
I don't remember the mechs in PW seeming too out of place, but it's been a long time.
I feel like people who say shit like this came into the series really late or didn't pay much attention. They're more advanced than most of the tech in the rest of the series barring Revengence and Metal Gear Solid 4 maaaaybe. It's not just the AI but the actual construction of them as well. On top of that, I'm supposed to believe they were made in complete secret when even Arsenal Gear was somewhat known to Scott Dolph?

That's something purely for player convenience and I don't think you can take the wormhole thing literally at all, it's akin to eating food magically heals bullet wounds.
Bull Fucking Shit. The Skull Unit specifically uses the tech in story and I believe it is even talked about in tapes.

Even if you want to make the claim that Big Boss doesn't actually have access to it "in universe", it still doesn't make fucking sense because Cypher/The Patriots have it in story and still never make use of it in any meaningful way. It's a glaring showing of Kojima not putting much thought into how anything actually works. It's a far cry from Snake pointing to his bandana and saying infinite ammo.

Is anyone in the thread good at recognizing instruments? I was listening to the music from External Gazer recently. I always wondered what makes those "Big Shell noises" in a lot of the tracks in MGS2:
I'm talking about the brass instrument that keeps doing tremoloes. What do you guys think it is?

Sometimes I'm good at it. Are they the trombones?

Unrelated but I remembered this asshole exists and wondered what they were up to. Banned for alogging Chris and saying people should kill them.

MGS3 is fucking great.
Konami should bring it and PW to pc already, they should bring MGS4 as well, but I don't see that happening ever.

I thought this was an interesting video. Goes into a lot of FOXHOUND stuff that never got mentioned as the series went on and general stuff about real special forces.

Why, yes, it IS a video game. Problem is, the guy whose going after me thinks I've committed a crime against mankind and is acting like a retarded manchild forcing his opinions on me and insulting me.

I'm just acting in self defence! HE'S the retard!
"It should have been him who was banned! He's the retard, I'm innocent! @Internet War Criminal is a liberal cuck! I'm based and redpilled! It should be you on this boat!"

Don't forget Sony's exclusive Killzone games (which originally was meant to be their Halo killer).
Fuck, I had forgotten about that game. That and Resistance : Fall of Man were both supposed to be Halo killers. Really the only memorable thing about Killzone to me were the Helghast aesthetic.

Resistance 1 and 3 were pretty awesome imo, I would love a pc port of the series

Playing through MGS V again and I weep for the fact that we will never get a sequel using the same structure and mechanics but with more shit. To this day I would shell out a hundred fucking bucks for a mission pack or a new map. Konami had such a winning formula on their hands those dumb fucking Japs, Survive could have been amazing too, I don't even care that the story was retarded. Just make a fanservic game where Mother Base soldiers fight XOF in a nightmare world where anything from the franchise can show up. I'd have played the fuck out of that.

Oh yea, Resistance was cool. Honestly, I preferred playing that and its third entry more than Killzone. Killzone felt like there wasn't enough of it.

I just finished playing through MGS2 again and some things occurred to me that hadn't before:

How did Stillman sneak into Shell 2? Strut D is tied with Strut F as the most annoying strut to deal with. It's basically a few catwalks with zero cover. I can maybe see him sneaking out of Strut C without being spotted but I can't see him getting across the CD connecting bridge (which has a guard posted on it) and through Strut D, real leg or no.

When Ames starts yelling towards the end of his scene I suddenly noticed how familiar he sounds:
