Based on your two posts in this thread I'm going to guess you're unreasonably angry about this movie for some reason, I'm really curious what it is. And don't give me that "I don't care" shit because if you didn't care you wouldn't be waiting for somebody else to dislike the movie for you to latch onto.

This movie is so absolutely toothless and unremarkable in every way but fanservice I cannot imagine what could possibly get somebody incensed over it.

Kids loved it. I fucking hate Illumination’s brand of humor. Jack Black was the best part. Peach was pretty much the hero, she could’ve done everything Mario accomplished (he felt so redundant). The orchestral versions of nintendo tunes were cool.

The Lego Movie and Wreck it Wralph did this type of story far better.

I mean, it’s silly to make a big deal about it, but there is an obvious through line between the film and “woke”.

The trailers made it seem like Peach was going to be the modern female lead character: does everything herself, don’t need no man, hyper competent and a smug condescending asshole that shits on men the whole time. The fact that she wasn’t that seems to be a big reason that critics rated the film so harshly: they came in expecting another Wreck It Ralph 2 and got a female character that actually liked and respected the main male character and was a generally nice person. And since it’s now outsold Frozen 2, that’s just icing on the cake

So I can see why people would talk about it, even if they overblow it. But that’s just how Youtube works these days.

Mario and Luigi were wholesome as fuck, I don't mind that they were separated because it made their reunion such a good payoff. The end fight with them made me smile really hard. so glad my boy luigi got to be in on the action.
Peach wasn't jarring as I thought she'd be, but she didn't feel very peach to me. but I'm glad she didn't come off as being petty towards her past iterations like people were making her out to be.
like the sonic movie, it's very much not super true to the source material, but it is still respectful to the source material and that makes it good in my book. wish this would continue in hollywood instead of faggot culture war and passive aggressiveness towards fans, but won't hold my breath.

I wouldn't mind a sequel, if it means I get to see more luigi and mario.
