I take it there aren't going to be any amphibious attacks so the loss of those men isn't too significant in terms of current military capability for this war? It's just a waste of talent and future opportunities.
Do people think this is because they are running short on men(without mobilization) or is Russia's culture of saving face also to blame?

Its worse then that really. Ukraine had access to the old soviet weapons stores, and the first thing they did when this war started was to lay a naval mine field around Odessa. They assumed (correctly) that Odessa was the ultimate target of the Russian south offensive. Its why Ukraine pulled out all the stops to defend Snake Island and went to autstic lengths at attacks on the Black Sea Fleet. Part of this was Ukraine has mined the Port of Odessa. And is refusing to say where the mines are, but we know they exist because a few have been blown to shore and have killed people in the area.

If Russia was to capture Odessa, they would need the Naval Engineers to clear the minefield. That is probably why those guys found themselves at the front around Kherson. What is inconceivable is Russia didn't pull them off the front when it became clear there was no way they would get to Odessa. Especially after they lost Snake Island and the Moscova was sunk.

What's funny is even if it was intended for that purpose, it achieved way more strategically than Russia's own offensive over the winter, which accomplished absolutely nothing.

I'm not sure about the other thread, but in the wider terms of Z-bros, he's pretty popular. Although I haven't seen him mentioned by any Russian telegram that I can remember so he's limited to Western Z-bros.

I've stated that Western Pro-Russian OSINT are x10 more delusional actual Russian OSINT, and Armchair Warlord is the absolute embodiment of that trend I noticed.

Probably a historic pattern, but I dunno from where/when; what I want to know is it was an actual historic tank.

Edit: actually it looks like some of their tank biathlon camo patterns, or those from Kazakhstan; or even India, which has equally hideous colors.
