The cat being the big bad was the most obvious shit in the world. I literally called it from the fucking trailer, but these jerk offs are too busy jerking themselves off because they think they are geniuses for doing the obvious.-Kerry calls navigating the cat being evil difficult. He says that through the design and voice acting, people would notice something was off, but he's happy with how things turned out in terms of delaying the reveal and making it rewarding. (Personally, I got Disney Twist Villain vibes).
-Eddy mentions that CRWBY was cool with the audience watching and not feeling like something's off, but then Jaune pointed out what the cat is really like, and making it feel like things end there. But he also adds that one of the things that CRWBY wanted to was to have something to tie to the events happening on Remnant with the cat revealing that he was made by the Brother Gods.
Kerry is a liar or a fool, almost certainly both.-Kerry says that V9 isn't a filler season. He says there's a lot of connections (I'm assuming to the main world) and there's more coming.
What relationship did Ruby have with this fucking cat in 7 fucking episodes??? What the hell is Lindsay even fucking talking about??-Lindsay says in regards to Ruby having a low point, "Rock Bottom has a basement." She says that Ruby relied on somebody like the cat and realizing that it's evil is the ultimate betrayal and sees this as a reflection on Ruby needing that she has to trust herself and not others.
Even for the "darkest" season of RWBY, its still some of the most light weight shit out there relative to most fucking anime. I swear these fucks really epitomize edgy middle schoolers despite all being in their fucking 30's.-Eddy says that the tea party was an early idea, and that in order to have an Alice in Wonderland world, you need a mad tea party and Roman/Neo play the role of The Mad Hatter. He also calls the beating scenes tough to watch.
-Kerry says that there's a lot of nightmarish things in this episodes. He also calls this episode a tone shift.
-Lindsay says watching Little being stomped broke her heart. Kerry says that a lot was put into making things not so grotesque. He also says that there's some justification since the season was so whimsical and there was a need to show the consequences of the way the world operates. Eddy says the episode is "very mean". The host (I forget his name) says that this is the grim portion of the fairy tale as opposed to "the Disney portion".
Even though this is clearly the best written episodes in the best written season of RWBY (don't be confused, that is an EXCEPTTIONALLY low bar) their commentary on it makes it seem like all the good writing is fucking ACCIDENTALLY good rather than intentionally good.
