Why must you put cool dreams inside my head to torment me?Could be worse, they could get their urban planning ideas from SimCity 3000 where literal castles eliminate all pollution and crime and skyrocket property values.

Some say they want the world where the only vehicle traffic is box trucks (usually they don’t like semis but some are fine with even big trucks, I doubt they know how empty on average that bread semi at the local store actually is).Another thing these faggots always forget is Trucks. Nit SUV's or Pickups, real Trucks. Right now I'm hauling almost 20 tons of frozen meat on a 500 mile run. How exactly do they expect to do that on bikes, or busses? O.K. fag, you get your wish, Stronk Towns, 15 minutes cities, you can walk to work in 15 minutes and your grocery store is on the way. Now how the fuck does the food get to the grocery store? Will there be ranches and farms inside the 15 minute city in your car-free utiopia?
For playing so many simulator games, they almost never get logistics. You have to get the meat from farm to the train to the store somehow. Getting rid of trucks is going to leave a lot of people starving, and a lot of food spoiled. Not just that, but how are they gonna get their Funkos fast??Some say they want the world where the only vehicle traffic is box trucks (usually they don’t like semis but some are fine with even big trucks, I doubt they know how empty on average that bread semi at the local store actually is).
And then the others who live in the existing bicycle paradises post rants about how the trucks are blocking the street.
And as mentioned some actually think that a rail line to each store or group of stores is at all workable. Truck bad. Really big truck on metal rails good.
Guaranteed none of them even know the term "just in time" as in how modern logistics are run. Some say they want the world where the only vehicle traffic is box trucks (usually they don’t like semis but some are fine with even big trucks, I doubt they know how empty on average that bread semi at the local store actually is).

Dontcha know that it's JIT logistics that's causing the all logistics issues not you know shutting down the world for 2 years:Guaranteed none of them even know the term "just in time" as in how modern logistics are run.

To be fair JIT is a major issue as any delay in the supply chain compounds down the line. It's also far, far more fragile than anyone is aware. That being said, it is the way nearly every business does things, even if it is fundamentally stupid.Dontcha know that it's JIT logistics that's causing the all logistics issues not you know shutting down the world for 2 years:
That's the thing, it's so religious that they'll use a bike to drag a refrigerator back to their shitty apartment just to prove that they believeI literally posted Magnasanti 3 pages back you know.
This touches on part of the core issue with these people, they are very big on theoretical knowledge they simply believe is correct because of a religious worship of Science as a new backbone of spirituality for the new age. They will read a paper and simply take it for granted because it is on a "reputable source" and because the guy writing/talking paid a bunch of money to get a shiny name tag. They do not actually understand how the sausage is made, how flawed these models are, refuse to admit biases and blind spots on their models, constantly work backwards to make reality fit the theory.
There is this old joke from pre-enlightenment European scientific progress of monks arguing about how many teeth a donkey has, and a new monk just asks why don't they just leave the monastery for a moment to count on a real donkey. The monks tell him to stfu because "real knowledge is derived from discussion and consultation of authoritative sources" not walking. It is literally how these people think. They don't "need" to actually go out and see what is happening on the city and how the public transport is going, there is no need to verify the money and proposals, all the knowledge they need is coming from the Scienceand it is already self evident from their own perception and if you question how suburbs could be a scam or why people would want a car you are obviously a carbrain bad faith actor or a ignorant normie who has not heard the word of the Gods of Urbanism.
honestly its easier to have it shipped to you or you rent a vehicle in that instance. even njb admitted that in a video one timeThat's the thing, it's so religious that they'll use a bike to drag a refrigerator back to their shitty apartment just to prove that they believe
Lol he admitted it?? Fuck. But you know what's even easier? One of these:honestly its easier to have it shipped to you or you rent a vehicle in that instance. even njb admitted that in a video one time
consider the following information: not everyone wants to own a truck nor should they have to own one in most instances when they dont need it. some people, they just want sedans or sports cars or coupes or one of those kei cars or something and thats perfectly fine.Lol he admitted it?? Fuck. But you know what's even easier? One of these:

A brand new F-250, which helps directly contribute to the American economy. Could also do it with a 150, maybe a ranger if it fits. Owning your own truck has perks, notably you don't need to rent a vehicle ( like DVD's vs streaming services) to pick up big or heavy things. You want that 75 inch flat-screen? Put it in the truck. Need to throw out a couch? Truck. Tow a trailer because you're moving or going on a trip? Truck baby. It's funny he admits the truck has a place but makes a big video wanting to ban them.
True not everyone needs one but it is fun and is good to know how to drive. A van is a good alternative I'll admit that, and thanks for the clarification on what he saidconsider the following information: not everyone wants to own a truck nor should they have to own one in most instances when they dont need it. some people, they just want sedans or sports cars or coupes or one of those kei cars or something and thats perfectly fine.
also he didnt say trucks in the video. it was vans. the cargo bike video he did a while back is when he mentions it.
besides, a van will suffice for most of these instances and also have towing capabilities too.
The funny thing is that my pickup gets better fuel mileage than my previous compact SUV. Even applying the conversion factor for diesel CO2 emissions it's still better than what I had before. It also does better than minivans like the Honda Odyssey and far better than many full size vans and some sedans/crossovers. But it's an evil bicycle destroying pickup, and about the same color as that Ford so the blood of the pedestrians I run over blends in with the paint.Lol he admitted it?? Fuck. Basically this. Why cram everyone into a hive if you can do the same work at home? Saves money and carbon for everyone. Not every job can do that, but that's what choice is about. Puts less wear on trains and roads too, and allows people to live a bit more naturallyThe funny thing is that my pickup gets better fuel mileage than my previous compact SUV. In my mind the best way to reduce carbon emissions is to let the people who want to work from home, well, work from home. Other than the occasional visit to customer sites my commute footprint is 0. Far lower than my job with 40 miles each way no matter what transit mode I used. And I only need one car instead of the 1.5 cars per person or whatever the average is since I can optimize my one car for 99.9% of my needs.
Wendover is a lefty. I'd take his analysis type videos with mountains of salt.Dontcha know that it's JIT logistics that's causing the all logistics issues not you know shutting down the world for 2 years:
Do I have to add /sneed even here?Wendover is a lefty. I'd take his analysis type videos with mountains of salt.
JIT is something that was developed for and to be used by a Highly Autistic Island Nations or a Nation in the middle of a massive trade network. Basically Japen, the UK and Germany. To be fair JIT is a major issue as any delay in the supply chain compounds down the line. It's also far, far more fragile than anyone is aware. There are some staples in the US that have always been JIT. Milk is basically JIT(~48 hours). Meat is fairly short timelines and it's hard to suddenly spin up more capacity when it takes 3-12 months to grow a new animal. Eggs as well. Some vegetables as well. Obviously stuff like rice and dried beans aren't and can be kept for a long time and warehoused.JIT is something that was developed for and to be used by a Highly Autistic Island Nations or a Nation in the middle of a massive trade network. Anywhere else it just falls flat.
You need a high number of Autistics per capita to make it worthwhile.
