Actually, she could throw money at it. Supposedly you can get verified if you spend over $5000/month in advertising on Twitter. Now if only she had some sort of product to advertise... a game, say.

Back on journalism for a moment, I think it's an interesting choice on Wu's part. She quite obviously is interested in it for the "Cool Kids Club" aspect - joing some PVCC-esque inner circle of journalists who all have their hands up each other's backchannels and secretly run the media. But that pretty much doesn't exist outside tiny, corrupt niches like game journalism. There's no PVCC for LGBT rights journalism, snarky lady-blogs, and so on.
There is one for Hillary Clinton fans, but it's called the Clinton Foundation and they're not hiring.

"Journalism" has supplanted "game development" as the "career" of choice for the disaffected and oppressed people of the Internet, wherein you don't actually have to do anything except sperg on social media or on a blog every so often and beg for cash/asspats. See also: Zayn Zaki.

She could make it a stretchgoal in her Patreon. "Give me 5 grand a month so I can attach a blue icon to my name on Twitter!" It's the ultimate pay to win game - the mere thought gets her salivating, I bet.

It was either taken away because he was doing his thing as a provocateur or they attempted to punish him for wrongthink, again. If I remember correctly, his accounted was suspended again around the time the tag was removed. Either way, kind of a petty reason to remove it.

It's kinda funny that this is one aspect of Brianna that isn't completely ridiculous; gamers may go above and beyond to get that one achievement or little shiny badge on your profile. The average person usually doesn't focus on it so vocally or heavily, though.

Being a "woman in tech" just isn't generating enough GamerGate harassment these days to keep the patreon ticking over, so she's decided to go to the other side of the controversy and become a corrupt journo.

Presumably she'll sleep with Zoe Quinn, review a shitty twine game by Frank as being an indie darling and then accept a shed full of cash from Warner Brothers Interactive to tell the world that there is nothing quite like Shadows of Mordor 2. Her reviews of Rev60 so far have been easily unbiased enough to get her a gig on Kotaku.

certainly reviewing games/ gaming is a no go, due to anyone pointing out his blatant kickstarter fraud and non release of game..would be erm..difficult to throw off..
