I would also caution any parent to observe the rule that anything your child is reading or about to read, you read too. Ideally you read it first. You have to be the judge, in their childhood, of what media they consume, because you as their parent know what is appropriate for your individual child. Fundamentally, if you don't want your children to read three Kamala Harris biographies, it is well within your parental power to prevent that. I confiscated both Brenda is a Sheep and Julian is a Mermaid before they were read, when they were sent home as 'free gifts', because I don't consider either of them suitable.

this is the most important thing people need to remember. as a parent you do have the ability to say no to what a child brings home and what media they take in. Youtube Kids is one of the best examples as people keep saying it pushes a gay agenda when the reality is the application is completely controlled by the parent and they're allowed to outright block videos/uploaders/words so a child is unable to look for or see those things. Most if not all these applications allow for a parent to put filters on. If parents don't do that it's on them.

I specifically remember some stuff my mother wouldn't let me or my siblings watch or view, and for some of it, it sometimes came down to "we have to watch it with you and if it's too inappropriate we can turn it off." there was a few things that I got to get away watching because mom and dad were there.

Maybe I'm mad but fuck it I believe you, there have too many cases of genuinely good users who have been banned the fuck out for genuine mistakes and no good reason, they claim there's no corruption among jannies but considering how the biggest jannie of all @Feline Darkmage all along seems to indicate they are generally not fair people. Null needs to get better at picking less lolcowy types.
