I've noticed that on nearly every page of this thread, someone attempts to directly ask or confront Shane about his constant lying, only to be completely ignored by The Man Himself. Has anyone considered the possibility that he isn't lying? Allow me to explain.

I'm a big fan of those criminal psychology videos you see on YouTube. You know, the ones where they take old interrogation footage and add narration that explains the psychological motivations behind the actions of the investigators and the person interrogated. When i noticed something absolutely uncanny. The first person shown in the video exhibits behavior I found hauntingly familiar but I just couldn't put my finger on it until he started spouting off to the police that he, a dumpy teenager in a wife-beater, owned and ran a security agency. Right then, it clicked. "Oh my god," I thought to myself, "He's Shane!"

You see, the deranged little fellow in this video isn't at all the person he postures as and claims to be at all, just like Shane. Yet the guy in the video wasn't necessarily lying. At least, not in the opinion of the law enforcement officials handling him. No, this little weirdo suffers from some considerable psychological condition which causes him to be completely delusional as a defense mechanism for his own fears about himself and the world around him. You might think it's a small distinction but it really isn't.

Shane genuinely believes everything he says about himself.

That's why you can't get him to engage with you when you point out these things aren't true. People with honest to god delusions are of course necessarily in incredibly deep denial. This means that your questioning is so inconvenient to Shane's psyche that he simply is incapable of processing them. You might as well not even be asking them, because they're entering an almost literal blind spot his brain has constructed to protect itself from reality.

To be fair, Shane isn't THAT fat. He doesn't have the excuse of being addicted to food or medicating his complete failure of a life by constantly eating.

Shane is the kind of fat that comes from doing absolutely nothing 24/7, and making the wrong food choices three times a day. So long as he's not as big as his heifer of a girlfriend (who he refuses to defend) he probably thinks he's doing okay. Likely his low testosterone contributes to this. Which is good, because it helps justify their sexless relationship.

Only like 5% of the people in beta's today even do their job so I expect them to be broken. Funny enough though, mobile games still pay for testers and if you know anyone in need of a job and you live in a large city I'd contact your local app dev. Some out East pay $18+ hour here.

Shane didn't work directly with either company. Hell, Lionhead was still running beta's out of their own studio at the time. It wasn't until 2014 or so when they started to outsource their beta testing the same way other studios did.
